Which folder of yours locks open like a FB??

I have a XXL hand. My Dalton Tiger has a large solid G-10 handle that sticks out a inch or more on each side of my hand when clenched. The blade has a square finish in the handle not a round one. Square. Amazing.
The blade then sticks out another four and a quarter inches in front of that.
It whacks open like a Dalton thunderbolt from Hell. And locks up as solid as any knife I have owned or handled in my life.
I trust it fro a myriad of chores, but would still never take the fixed blade off my belt. I wear one daily. It's just part of getting dressed in the morning for me. Trust in a folder to become a fixed blade....nope. A folder is still a folder.

Peace.

My Buck 110 locks up real tight. I have also noticed that the linerlocks that also utilize a backspring have a better lock-up thaqn plain liner locks.

My Knives that lock rock solid:

Cold Steel Black Sable - A freakin TANK!

Buck Straider Tarani 882 - Rock Solid

Ontario Hosum Retribution I - Another freakin TANK!

Benchmade 710 - I've carried this for over 8 years and it's still solid.:D

I think you've said it really well.
Especially:

The knives I have that are the most like fixed blades are my sng, cqc-12, mini socom elite, 806, and 42. I like to think that it's near to impossible for one of these to close on my hand. However, they can't replace a fixed blade because even though they wont close on me, they can still develope damage of one form or another, perticularly in the pivot area or to the lock itself. But if you take into account the size and weight, they could probably be used nearly as hard as a comparibly designed fixed blade for most things. My full size socom elite really has the feel of a fixed blade to me, but I can't seem to allow myself to trust the lock fully. And I've never actually held one, but some of those ER folders might be pretty close to a fixed blade too.

While certainly no fixed blade my two folders that I have the most lock confidence in are my Sebenza and large Obenauf Model 2.

Microtech SOCOM Elite P/E M/A. That Micro-Bar locks up tighter than any other folding knife I own. Takes a real effort to get it unlocked.
