Which knife that you own came with the sharpest blade?

Do straight razors count? :) You haven't seen sharp until you've put a keen edge on one of them. I was careless once when I was new to straight razor shaving and the razor's heel laughed at me as it slid through my thumb like a laser through butter. :) The worst part was I looked down and watched it slice through my thumb, it almost pulled itself through. :)

For production knives my Kershaw Random Leek (s30v) came hair popping sharp.

Recycling old threads is kind of neat.

Spyderco. Every one I've ever bought was razor sharp out of the box. I've also accidently cut myself more often with Spyderco knives than any other brand.

Definately Spyderco. I also have cut myself with those right out of the box more than once - especially my Moran drop point. Pulled it out of the sheath, and ended up with bandaids on 3 fingers for a week

That's when it occurred to me that I should withdraw it using my thumb as a lever, instead of just "...whipping it out...". Hmm, sounds like Blazing Saddles... :D

Sharpest....probably the CF Delica SE. The Manix was close but a much more aggressive edge. All my Spydies came easily shaving.

The one with the best blade profile the BRKT mini canadian by far. It had a burr when I got it, but after a few minutes on a very fine stone made it the sharpest knife I have. The A2 steel helps though.

The Manix. It almost cut the top of my thumb off at the knuckle a week ago. It was so sharp, and the cut was so clean, that it's healed already!

It's a toss up between my Fallkniven NL3 and my Northwoods Willow Leaf. Both have full convex grinds and were incredibly sharp out of the box.

Buck/Mayo TNT....closely followed by a Gene Ingram fixed blade called the "shortcut"....

RJ Martin A2 Wasabi. easy to keep it sharp too.

Another is a knife by Uli Hennicke of Germany, made with CK60 Carbon Steel.

Hattie

I have to echo that the Spydercos seem to arrive sharper than virtually everyone else, but the Shabaria I purchased several years ago was unbelievably sharp. I performed a little leather stropping and the hairs on my arm leaped off with no skin contact, or perceptible feel.

talk about a resurrection. I'm sure someone else noticed that this thread is 3 years old. ps Spydercos definitely. bark river running a close second.

Benchmade CQC 7 sharpest out of the box and holds it's edge longer than any knife I've ever owned.

Oddly enough, an old Buck Bucklite that I bought for 25 bucks :) This was oh.. 10 years ago??? Before they started making the ones that look like the rubber handled proteges, it was sort of like a plastic handled version of the titanium bucks.

The sharpest knife from the box I've owned was a Cold Steel large TwistMaster (the original version). Number two would be the two Voyagers I have. Number three is probably this big, honkin' Kershaw fixed blade I recently acquired made of D2.

Wait! I forgot one... even sharper than the TwistMaster was one of those old Hackman folders from Finland with the red plastic rotating handles (similar to a balisong). That thing was sharp like a disposable razor blade.
