Which knife was instant attraction that proved correct?

Victorinox tinker
Saw them behind displays and blister packs as a kid and loved them, saw them used by macgyver and a few other films and loved them, had a knockoff from my dads tackle box and liked it, got the real thing finally and it didn't disappoint, still one of the most carried and most trusted knives I own.

Enlan EL-01
SanRenMu LB-763
Ganzo G-712
Rough Rider Granddaddy Barlow
Hultafors Carbon Steel Heavy Duty
Opinel #12 and #12 Saw, awesome duo.

Grayman Dua. I saw pics for the first time and said "THAT'S the one!" I have never been so stoked over any material item as I was with that one.

I was a little disappointed that I did not get that feeling with my TSF Beast. Right now, it's my most carried and used knife!

It was the Kershaw DeerHunter I saw and immediately purchased back in the 80s = no regrets :)

A Puma White Hunter in the 1970s. A Swiss Army Knife in the 1980s. A Spyderco Endura in the 1990s. An Al Mar SERE 2000 in the 2000s. A Spyderco Gayle Bradley in the 2010s.

Spyderco Manix 2 in s30v. I wasn't disappointed. I have a PM2 on the way now, but it will have to be spectacular to move the manix out of 1st place.

My Leek.
One that surprised me was those Outdoor Edge $20 folders. I figured it wouldn't be any good since it was so cheap, but this thing is SO sharp and great for skinning squirrels

Old news now and not very exiting to younger generations but the Spyderco Endura back around 1992 really changed my perspective on folders. stainless steels, ergonomics, faster into action than the then illegal autos, and so on.....

I have many knives now and have tried my share of new ones. I still keep the Endura of the moment with me ( even the model from 92 still works very well. The lock back design just polishes up smoother if kept clean of grit that can scratch or mar it)

I still plan on trying out new designs, and my thing, new steels but while I'm carrying expensive customs and mid techs one of my several Enduras will be with me. I have even taken them swimming in the atlantic , in pools, and with a bit of washing and rinsing they are fine.

Endura ZDP-189 for it's gorgeous satin finished blade in combination with that British racing green handle. A stunning knife and it cuts like glass.

When I first saw the production TAD Dauntless MK. III I instantly said I had to have it. Finding it was the interesting part. After some time of searching one finally popped on the exchange and jumped on it. The knife did go above and beyond my expectations.

DPx HEST/F. One of my first "higher end" folders (coming from SOGs and CRKTs) and it was everything I hoped it would be.

Sadly that was my first "high end" folder, opened it up and got remorse. Then a day later it started getting vertical and horizontal blade play

Anywho, for the OP's question, that was the ESEE Junglas. Saw that and had to have it. It is still my most used woodsblade.

I also always wanted a Microtech SOCOM Delta but finding a non-tanto was darn near impossible. So I settled for a tanto. I was a bit hesitant when I first opened it but they did a good job with making the tanto point usable

My first was the Para 2, and it was the first knife I bought since finding BF.

Second came the ZT 561 wich I researched my way to, then had to have.

Then came the BK9. Nuff said.

Dragonfly2 in ZDP, awesome little big knife.

Biggest crush though, and most recent was the ZT 0770cf. gets all the the pocket time for now.

I have to agree with this one. Also my first higher end knife - and at that time very expensive one - was spyderco poliwog in ss. I still miss that knife. :)
