Which knife would the original James Bond have carried with todays current knives?

A buckle knife, of course.

Good answers so far.

I would say either a custom Emerson A 100 or CQC 7a. Or gooeytek's titanium Persian.

I think I remember a flat throwing knife strapped to his leg in one story. Maybe a Gerber Guardian?

The "original" James Bond (from Fleming's novels) would be over 90 years old now, Id say a well worn Ibberson slip-joint or such...Connery (83!) how 'bout a Sgian Dubh?

Bond was a Royal Navy Commander, and no doubt would have a water/ sailing/ diving knife- along the lines of a Spyderco Pacific Salt H1.
Once seconded to MI6, I think the same knife would be carried for the familiarity of it.

The Brits see a knife as a tool, not a weapon, so a throwing knife is maybe a little nod to Hollywood.
I hope Bond does not wear long socks in which to keep that sgian dubh:) And a kilt on assignment can be a little embarrassing.

An original Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife, probably a bit worn out (like him).
A Q-made ballistic knife to end those knife fights the 00- way.
And in his pocket would be a Sheffield-made slip joint - which of course would be a gift from Miss Moneypenny and engraved with something suggestive.

Good thread.

In bond movies edged weapons are typically bad guy weapons.. If he had to carry a blade, he could do worse than a SOG Pentagon Elite 1. Seems like something cold and efficient for a spy.

I would suggest an Italian stiletto automatic.

This is a nice 8 inch long bladed switchblade from SKM, just right for stabbing people in her Majesty's service.

In the books, Bond carried two flat throwing knives; one strapped to his left wrist and one carried horizontally across the small of his back.

I like the Sebenza idea.
It would be a small with a CF scale and a damascus blade.
Well a special sort of damascus with a UnionJack pattern.
Light, unobtrusive and british ( in the sence that it is a manual folder).

I guess that has to be some OTF automatic knife, because it's both style and a gadget. So it would be either Microtech or BM Infidel, depending on who offered better deal.

I think he'd have a modern version of the Fairbairn Sykes commando knife

Something like the Gerber Defacto

The classy james bond, mh I don't know if he would carry a folder. Rather I imagine James Bond with some kind of dagger. Maybe a sleeve dagger?
