As OP, I'd like to say I really enjoy all of your different perspectives and comments. Its a pleasure to read and consider them. And I do not take offense if you have different tastes, or need knives of a different type for your uses. That is to be expected.
I'd like to respond to a few of other comments -
First, 39 (I think somebody counted) is not a large collection and doesn't take up a lot of room. That's true (although boxes add to it). May not make sense to everyone, but I am trying to drastically simplify my life at the moment. Get to a sort of minimalist lifestyle you might say. I have already made progress with other stuff and I really like the feeling. This collection is the result of previous downsizing (with a few impulse buys in the mix) over the last few years. It's time to prune one more time.
Yes, I will keep track of any interest expressed.
Why 10? Good question. Part of the the answer is that 5 is too hard to do, though maybe I should give it a try. And 1 is impossible for me. 10 lets me keep a good sampling and rotate as EDCs.
Also, a note about the sebenzas. They are ancient and act like it. Also blades are pretty rough. One is an "original" sebenza with ATS-34 (late 90's maybe), and the other is a "regular" with BG-42, both long before the 21s. They are interesting from an age perspective I suppose. Maybe someone with the right skills could make them sing.
And for those who are not familar with Umfaans - they are tiny versions of the early sebenzas, built the exact same way. More like a keychain knife. I think they were a bit cheaper than sebenzas when they were available, and most had some kind of design on the handle (zig-zag, circles, others).
