Which PM2 variant is your favorite?

I always thought that the earth brown would have been too muddy and depressing, thanks for letting me know that it's not. Thankfully knifecenter is only a hop and a skip away, so I might have to schedule a little playdate with a couple of spydies

Oh no, it's pretty light, it was rightfully described as more caramel/milk coffee that "earth brown"-

I think the red DLT m390 is mine
I love M390 and I said I probably wouldn't be interested in a red Para unless it was the "right" red. Well they nailed it. It IS COOL !
M4 in jade is tops in my book
this, This, This, THIS, THIS ^
I used mine for months on abrasive stuff this winter, it was getting just a little less than shave sharp and yesterday I touched it up. Originally I sharpened it on the Edge Pro to frighteningly sharp and this makes twice since then I was able to easily bring it back with just the Spyderco Ultra Fine triangle ceramic rod using just one rod free hand.

For comparison the last several days I have been using a brand new Case medium Texas Tooth Pick that I also reprofiled and sharpened on the Edge Pro. I babied it and it is already seriously dull (I touched it up same day that I did the Para). In contrast I used the Para in M4 for my most abrasive and punishing cutting chores that I wouldn't have dreamed of using the Case SS steel for and the M4 went for months not days.
You knew I was going to post pics didn't you. (I just never tire of looking at it or using it (((or talking about it)))).
It makes me leap for joy hahahaha

52100 all the way.

And I can use my plain old stones to sharpen it. In 10 minutes or less.

Helloooooooo high carbon steel! Welcome home after all these years!

I had (once upon a time) an extensive collection of PM2's...including four of the early ones in S90V. Those have been GONE for years.
I have one PM2 remaining (CTS-XHP)...and I look at it, lovingly, on rare occasions.

That knife fascinates me every time I see a photo of it. I really missed out not getting one.
My biggest surprise was I didn’t like how it looked with blue jeans. Go figure. Aside from that, really cool blue.

The red m390. Before that I was carrying the green cts 204. Both great knives.

Currently waiting on this one to come in.

I expect it to be my favorite!
Also waiting on some marbled carbon fiber scales!

Try taking a step back and read this thread but exchange PM2 with 'handbag':D

A bunch of (mostly) guys (I assume) preening over the colors - jade, red, blurble - and how the item in question doesnt go well with blue jeans (fer crying out loud!):D

Not that there is anything wrong with handbags or being fashion conscious.

But its a knife!!

That being said, the PM2 is an awesome user.

Prior to getting one, I thought it odd looking.
More so, than my other Spyderco knives.

Bought one to see, what all the hype was about.

It instantly won out over other folders, when I reached for a knife to use.

An amazing folder. User friendly and light weight quality knife.

Id never thought, it would make me use the Southard, PPT etc less but it does easily.

IMO if could have only one (the horror!) Spyderco/folder, the PM2 would be it - just my opinion of course.

Okay, so the first part of this post might - might - have been partly due to me only ever having bought two bog standard PM2s (one coated and one without coating (far prefer the latter)) and Id really like some of the ones mentioned in this thread - not least the carbon PM2.

The PM2s mentioned in this thread are all great and Id dearly like all of them.

Still a pretty funny read:D

This all meant tongue in cheeck (apart from the bit about the PM2 being an awesome knife).

My favorite PM2?

I don't have one yet and here is the reason why. The blade. I can't get over the fact that, IMHO, the blade just doesn't fit the handle. To me, it looks like Sal spent tons of time designing the handle and then handed the project over to someone else and only allowed them about ten minutes to finish the project. I know that's not the case but I can't help it.

It seems to be a fine knife and I want one but I think that long, flat spine of the blade will keep me from ever getting one.

Maybe I’m an oddball but I really like knives with patina on the blade. I know the pm2 has an m4 and 52100 versions, were those the only 2 non-stainless blades? Does Maxamet patina?
Also, anybody have an m4 or 52100 version they’d like to sell me?
