Thanks for playing. However, the OP did not ask what Leatherman you would recommend. Do you have a SAK recommendation?I prefer the Leatherman Micra as a pocket companion for a larger EDC knife. I prefer the more robust shears which easily cut through zip ties. I also like that it can be opened full length when using the knife blade or screw driver blades. Easier for me to handle with my XL sized hands. I also have found the Micra to be more durable than any of the Victorinox products I've owned.
I say start with a recruit and see if there is something it's missing (or if it's perfect as is)For under $20, I'd recommend the Recruit. On a good day you can find them for ~$15. I have mine on me every day. As long as you don't try to cut down a tree with it, it'll last a lifetime.
I keep an older Minichamp on my keys. If you can find a used one, they're ridiculously useful little buggers. There's always someone with a cigar box full of Classics at the local gun and knife show for $5. You might get lucky and find a Minichamp in the mix.

The Spartan is popular. I tend to not use a cork screw and as a result choose a different model. The Tinker tool set is my favorite overall. I do own a Spartan. I assembled it myself under the direction of the Vic Rep at a knife store during one of their events.I found.a good deal on a spartan. It looks close to the tinker anyone have these and like them
