Which SAK?

I am looking for a good all round SAK. I have been looking around at the different Swiss Army Knives, and see there are a ton of different options out there. What one do you guys prefer? I don't see a huge need to have a pair of scissors but want a good saw. Or would you prefer a leatherman wave or one of their models?
I found this guy on Amazon, was just curious if any of you have it. I am not that interested in it because it looks way too big to be useful. May be wrong though.

Try a Victorinox "Farmer" SAK. It has a GREAT saw, and is an incredibly useful, yet pocketable knife. You can't go wrong with a "Farmer!"

Here's an alternative to the Farmer, the Pioneer Harvester.

That recurved pruning blade replaces the can opener on the Farmer.

I am a fan of the One Handed Trekker. Good saw, nice blade, although some have reprofiled the blade to get rid of the serrations.

The Farmer is my next SAK purchase but at this time I'm really liking my Hiker model
I just took this pic the other day :p

I posted this over on the Multitool forum, looking for answers in regards to the saw:

Hopefully, some of the answers will help you with your choice.

As for me, I'm trying to decide between the Camper and the Hunter. A lot of people seem to really like the Farmer, but I want the corkscrew(my wife really likes wine) to go along with the saw. Both seem like functional tools, but I guess the Hunter is longer.

Good luck making your decision.

Love my one-handed trekker. Definitely get rid of the serrations. The saw is wicked. Big enough blade to do something with too and I love a lock blade.

Vic Farmer, One Handed Trekker (They sell non-serrated versions, just look around. I think Two Wolves has them too), or Rucksack

I personally like the Trekker for hiking and the Farmer for short trips or EDC.

Cheese & rice that thing is a monster. Looks like most everything would be usefull though.

It really depends on what "you" feel like you need based on experience and what you've used in the past.

For the most compact/"carry-able", I think the small ALOX Farmer is about the best.

For the next step up for me, I like the larger, locking blade Rucksack; I do like scissors (helps to cut mole skin, trim nails, clean cuts on thread or 550 cord or trimming paper) and my favorite model is the Outrider.

Other than the blade, I like a good awl, saw and can-opener.

Check out the Huntsman model. I keep on in my PSK. It's got a good combo of tool and a corkscrew :)

+1 on the Farmer.

But, also check out the Rucksack.
It has a locking main blade (is a bit larger than 'regular' SAKs), but makes for a great all-around knife and is good for picnics, too.

The Farmer is my favorite and the only SAK I have multiples of.

The One Hand Trekker is good, but I find the handle to be kinda slippery and the locking mechanism is weird to me. Get the non-serrated version. If you mod it with a different grip it would be really nice.

My Champion stays in the car in the emergency kit there. Too bulky to be of much use to me.

Multi-tools (as in the plier type) are nice too. I own a couple of Gerbers, a SOG Paratool, and the following Leathermans: SuperTool 2000, PST, the old Wave and the new Wave and 6 of the Juice S2's (I got them on a good deal and bought a dozen of them to stash everywhere and to give as gifts). I like the Wave the best, but I plan on getting a Charge TTi. The fight over multi-tools is often between a LM Wave and the Swisstool Spirit.

1. Any SAK with a saw.

2. There is a discontinued model called the locksmith with a wood saw and a metal file.

3. SAKs are like chips/roasted peanuts/M&Ms etc. You can't stop at just one.

How about the Leatherman Wave? Do you guys see that as a superior tool to the SAK? obviously the leatherman has the pliers and is a different format. It isn't made for pocket carry. Outside of the pliers how would you rate the leatherman vs. a SAK for everyday uses?
