Which Spyderco are you carrying today?

They were made by Bower Bladeworks (Kevin). He did semi polished red linen micarta and also upgraded the fasteners to T8. The handle is now thicker than the factory Millie, but it is smooth and contoured so it feels the same in the pocket. I want to polish them further, but haven't taken the time to do it yet.

Beautiful. What size are the stock fasteners?

Landon, that Millie looks fantastic. I want to upgrade my screws to T8, as well, but I'm not sure where to get them.

My Sage 1 just came in. Beautiful knife. Fit and finish is outstanding, feels great in hand, and like all Spydercos, razor sharp out of the box. I am impressed. Definitely a keeper.

Looks good. I am patiently awaiting the Rubicon to try some contoured scales on a folder. I think there should be more options for it from Spyderco. I did a T8 upgrade as well with standoffs in place of the back spacer. On a knife that large T6 can be avoided. In fact, I can see Spyderco skipping almost all T6 screws. My CRUWEAR Manix's clip screws are even T8. Doesn't seem like much, but it makes a big difference.

THAT- is how you treat a pretty colored knife hehe. No reservations.

That is how I do it. All my knives are users. That Sage 3 probably gets picked on more than any other for dirty hard use though. My CRUWEAR Mili stays pretty dirty too!

I carried my Centofante 3 today.

Try a Vallotton...it has beautifully contoured scales...I'll carry it this evening in fact just for the sake of it. Little bit of overkill for house chores because it's such a solid and overbuilt knife, but it's also such a good looking knife that it just doesn't matter.

I have thought about the Vallotton and it is not completely ruled out, but it is too thick. I think I would try the Hungarian first. My Southard has the same problem. Superb knife and I even had Big Chris reprofile the blade, but I like the wider slimmer handle. A wider contoured handle that is not too thick would be awesome. I hope the Rubicon is better proportioned.

It is definitely on the thick side...I'll show some comparison shots with my BattleStation. I'd expect the Rubicon to be similar thickness (Hard to do a gradual contour without the thickness to work with), but it carries more unobtrusively than you'd think because it's not as "Tall" (I consider length in the direction of the blade, width looking at the knife top down, and height looking at the knife side-on). All in all, it's a VERY nice knife. My qualms to it initially were the same as yours (Too wide), but I held it 4 or 5 times in a row while at my local knife store, and kept asking to look at it every single time...I finally decided to stop fighting myself, and I have no regrets about finally buying it. It's also one of my smoothest opening and/or flicking Spyderco knives, and has FLAWLESS fit and finish in every conceivable way.

I do not carry a Spyderco, but I had a Valotton in a couple months ago for a regrind. I have to say that it was a wonderful knife. Fit and Finish was excellent, fit and feel in hand was great. If I still bought production knives the Valotton would have been top on my list. I could not believe that it was not made in the Golden,CO facility.

It truly is a masterpiece, and a must have for anyone collecting Spydercos...and it's seriously overbuilt and capable too.
