Only reason I want to force a patina is because I had two knives (albeit in M4) I carried and used them for construction type work, they rusted up more than I liked and no patina. So to prevent that I'd rather just force the patina. My other K390 knife a PM2 I used vinegar, gonna try mustard this time.K390 Delica. Nothing fancy, but it's the favorite folder I've carried (and I've owned a bunch of 'em, many much more expensive). I've also got a Cruwear Delica, but I haven't used it yet.
PS - You don't really need to mustard patina it. It does it on its own with a little use.

You could, and I've done so on other tool steels and I don't regret it a bit, but speaking from experience that k390 will manage just fine on its own.Only reason I want to force a patina is because I had two knives (albeit in M4) I carried and used them for construction type work, they rusted up more than I liked and no patina. Went more lightweight for sunrise carry today. I get a cool looking, but temporary cold induced patina that starts developing at around 15 degrees and gets more purple/black the colder it gets, more so on the H1. As soon as the blades warm back up the colors disappear.
