Which spyderco is the hardest to find?

I'm kicking myself still...4 yrs later. Since 2009 I've gone to two local area knife shows annually and seen the same guy twice a year for 4 years...thats 8 times!!! He had a NIB aluminum c15 and c19 both plain edge for sale. All those years they just sat lonely in their boxes looking through the glass case. Now the last few shows I haven't seen the guy! Hope he's okay.

I kept shying away from a local knife shop selling the ATR... one day... it was gone... I have not seen one since except on the bay... and I have been outbid in the last seconds too many times to count...

I heard there was a program that lets the bastards program a bid in the last 5 seconds... I HATE them! (rant off)

Spyderwrench?

Good one. I recently found out that there are two versions. The USA made 440c version and the AUS-8 Taiwan made version. I've never seen a plain edge version though.

Yeah, the Klotzli collaboration in CF and blue anodized Ti. I had a chance on several of them at a brick and mortar that was going out of business. They were a little too rich for my blood. The CT guys probably know which store I'm talking about. I did manage a couple Ti ATRs though...

Just two off the top my head and both militarys. The first carbon fiber/S30V and the Spyderco forum model. 400 or less on each of them.

The weird thing is, I picked up one of the CF/S30V Millies for less than the street price of the regular G-10 model. That's been a few years ago, though.

Just a couple of the top of my head:

Native PE AUS-10 in all stainless
Edge Angle Guide
Those pesky Q models...

I can think of a few that are pretty hard to find. The full serrated CPM D2/Foliage green G-10 Paramilitary is going to be a problem.

I didn't know they even made a fully serrated CPM D2 Foliage Para. That would be a nice one to find for my Para sprint family.

I can think of a few that are pretty hard to find. The full serrated CPM D2/Foliage green G-10 Paramilitary is going to be a problem. Well, not all that hard to find, but getting it away from spydutch is going to be tough. The Cranberry Lum Chinese would be easier since there are two of them.

Didn't he also have a SE D2 Military? Pretty rare that one as well :D

In your opinion, which spyderco is the hardest to find? I'm not talking about a PM 2 "shortage" either. I mean with all the models produced, which knife have you rarely seen for sale? What spyderco have you been seeking for?
Even ignoring the "one-off" gifted pieces, I can think of a lot of Spydercos that rarely show up for sale. Heck, I have about three dozen different Q variants, half of which rarely show up for sale, and there's another three dozen variants I'm still looking for, most of which I've never seen for sale.

Some of the older lockback Kiwi models come to mind. I have the most common four: Plain Stainless, Jigged Bone, White MOP, and CF. I literally look daily for the smooth red bone, the black with abalone, and other variations. The same four that I have and a couple ultra expensive Santa Fe Stoneworks and David Yellowhorse customs are all I EVER see.

Paul, I covet the heck out of your awesome Kiwi collection!

yes... the C15... (brain fart) I have two G-10 Partial Serrated... and 2 G-10 partial serrated C-19 ... but no plain blades... bleh

Shadenfreude!!!!
I'm off to play with my minty plain edge Terzoula. Sorry this one is hard to find it's one of my favorites, often a friend offers to lowball me on it but I keep it even though I don't use it, violates my collections prime directive.

(Oooops. Not a C15 but a minty fresh 440v Starmate, never seen a c15, must be rare.)

Fluted Titanium Native5

I would agree with this one.I was on a list(no paid pre-order,just email when they get them) with a popular dealer. The Ti Native's came & went without a word from them.

I would also add the Kris.I had one when they were in production & sold it.:grumpy:Can't find them anywhere anymore.

I have a model 34, the Jess Horn with jigged bone handle and nail nick rather than spidey hole.
