I don't have a Sage.
I do have a Manix2 in CTS-BD30P.
I have done comparison testing between S30V and CTS-BD30P. The CTS-BD30P was a bit better, but not enough to be the basis of a choice between knives. (see write-up in the testing forum if you wish.) However, I would recommend the Manix2 over the Carbon Fiber Sage because of the rest of the design of the Manix2, with which I am much taken. It is a well designed, well built knife. I like the ball bearing lock and prefer it to a liner lock as is in the Carbon Fiber Sage. Above all, I very much like the design of the handle. I know that handle shapes are a matter of personal preference, but to me the Manix2 has one of the best handle shapes I have found on any knife. (And as you might figure, I have quite a number of knives upon which to base that opinion.)
You don't like the Para 2 because it feels like a user? That may be the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. I would say the Military, but as it isn't one of your choices, I will say PM2. The compression lock has to be one of the strongest locks on the market, and the steel is pretty solid. If you want bang for your buck, I would go with the Gayle Bradley though. Carbob Fiber plus m4 tool steel. If you're doing tasks that the Sage will take care of, then you may never have to sharpen the Gayle Bradley.Para2 is a great knife, but feels like the user it is. For niceness look at the Ti Sage - or you might like a Native 5 - I think I have gone off the idea myself, having been keen, but I can still see the appeal. Just not feeling it at the moment![]()
