While we're waiting for BOTM picture show.

I sold my Marlin 336 around 1994..1995...?
Fit and finish was as good as or better than the pre-64 Winchester 94 I had and (stupidly) sold around 1990 or 1991.

I don't know what the new ones produced since Marlin changed ownership and management, are like.
Mostly what I read applied to Marlins after they were acquired by Remington. A lot of people say buy a pre Remington 336.

View attachment 1421574 I agree. I enjoy shooting .22’s more than anything else. For a fun day at the range or in the woods Lever action rifles and single action revolvers can’t be beat.

I like that they shoot the crappy and low velocity ammo. Autos tend to be picky eaters. For a treat I’ll load the Marlin 39 with .22 shorts (26 of them). Then do some rapid fire.

Nice. How do you like the Marlin 30/30? I’ve been doing research and some say the fit and finish are not that good.
It’s best to find a JM stamped Marlin that are pre- Remington 2009-2010 stamped REP. I think that’s what remlins use. All of my Marlins are JM stamped Which stands for John Marlin.

I have two AR's bought at a gun store, so they have paperwork in the system. I am counting on a Rossi .357 lever to never be on a "list". But if I talk about it here I may regret mentioning that.
I will eventually put a red dot on it and call it my cowboy AR. To go along with a old SW 66 and either a 119 or a 120 on the belt. Top it off with a 303 in my watch pocket. My hide-out knife. 300Bucks.

I grew up with a lever action .30-30 from Marlin.

I had a little cousin who was so excited to get his hunters permit. He went out shopping for a deer rifle and was crushed he could not afford one.

I sold him my .30-30 for $125 so he would be able to afford to get a scope, mounts and a sling as well.

I meant to replace it, but just never did...

Nice! That Blackhawk has see a lot, it has a “been there, done that” look. Love the long barrel too.

I prefer them either as short as possible or as long as possible. The in between lengths are boring. Just too practical I guess.
