I bobbed the hammer then checkered the top of the hammer. You start the hammer back with the trigger then you can finish cocking it with your thumb. For single action shots. Ruger offered a hammer like that as an option on the six series revolvers called a Speed Hammer.

That's fantastic!:thumbsup: Great modification on the hammer and I prefer the smaller grips on these too. Looks like a range day tomorrow, there goes the ammo...

View attachment 1422299 Thank you. In my mind fixed sight double action revolvers should have bobbed or shrouded hammers. For snag free defensive situations.

Adjustable target sight guns should have normal hammers for precision shooting.

Here it is when I first got it with my bobbed SP like Mike’s and my Dad’s Security six. I bought the security six for my Dad as a present for being my best man. When he died I got it back, but haven’t shot it.

Ruger makes great revolvers.

A blued finish for an old school look. The 4" barrel may be my favorite overall. The wood inserts are Wenge. The knife, not a Buck, sports Pennsylvania Curly Maple. :)

Agreed.
That's nice.
I've been looking for a used service revolver for awhile.
Those old blued GP 100's in .357 just look really cool.
They show up online, but not so much in person.

Thanks for the Rugers guys!
