Who among you FISHES?

Living where I do, we have the advantage of fresh or salt water. I enjoy going to the bays and fishing for trout and redfish but don't get to go very often.
Love them big gator Trout you Texans catch! Do they hit topwater baits up there? (I say up there from the perspective of my previous residence in SW Florida.)

I use to Salt water fish all the time ut of Sandiego on the 1/2 and 1 day cattle puckers :barf: Lots of Sand bass Ling Cod, Vermillion and Baracuda and some yellow tail in the summer/fall.

Kona in Hawaii was also good for Ono, YUM! After I needed a back surgery I really don't like rocking around on the ocean any more so its time to learn fresh water fishing. Someone told me that my Rhino Finger Skins would work great for Fly fishing.

Any Fly fisherman or ladies here? What do you think?

I have to private lakes and I almost never fish anymore.

I see that changing as my grandson gets older, and my granddaughters want to fish more.

I used to fish all the time, and also fished the monthly bass tournaments here at the lake, but I just have been busy with other hobbies and pastimes.

A weigh - in picture - second place overall and big bass this day.

keep your ears open for info about Emiquon lake between Lewistown & Havana, have a few customers bragging pretty hard and showing pics to back it up. lot's of 15 to 18 inchers, lots of action. Mybe we can meet up there, maybe I can hog tie JK and get him down also.

Let's give them nice old Penn Reels a workout!
My dad gave me a few old deep sea rods and tackle to go with them and I picked up a couple of Lamiglas steelhead rods to play with. I'm dying to get out there.

I live on this little river 3.5 miles from the Pacific.:D

Wow, Nice area, but what do you use for anchors? Engine blocks?

Sounds like a winner - that is only about 30 mins from my house.

My lakes have a great population of 2-3 lb bass, and also nice crappies and gills.

I'm not much of a fisherman, but I can drink beer water and watch other people fish pretty well. Let me know if this happens, I'd love an excuse to get out there.

They do, I have had some luck with spoons but by far the best luck has been with live shrimp using a cork.

My father-in-law gave me a NIB Min-Kota 30 lb thrust electric tonight. I don't have a boat but he doesn't anymore. Maybe I'll have to take s look at my friend's Lund he offered to sell me.

Having lost 100lbs this last year maybe I won't be as quick to swamp it.

Great Boats those Lunds, Now you can take 100 lbs more lures with you!

I've heard the Lunds are pretty good. I have to try really hard not to take all my gear with me when I go somewhere. I finally had to take about 15 pounds of weights out of my tackle box so I could pick it up. I've also bought a couple smaller boxes to try to sort stuff out more for what I might actually use when I go somewhere.

My latest purchase was one of the Angled Storage Systems from Plano(?). I think there are about six different spots for smaller boxes. Should make stuff easier yet to get to once I do some more sorting. I'm a tackle reps best friend. The lure doesn't have to catch fish, just me!

I get off the coast here in Texas whenever I can, or when a vendor in my industry volunteers a spot on a one or two day trip... Redfish and trout are awesome in the Gulf. Same goes for hardheads.

In the lakes and ponds I love going after BMB, but honestly still love the fight against a solid 5-8lb catfish. Reminds me of day trips with my grandma in east Texas when I was a kiddo.

I don't get to go as much as I wish I did, but with a youngster in the house now, I am just biding my time to get him out on a dock and into fishing.
