Who can make a Buster Sword

maybe the boys at HI could do it... they take insane custom orders from time to time and they're price isn't crazy... Won't be super steel but they're craftsmanship is on point.
 
I could make it on a cnc planer mill,, I estimate that by the amount of steel it would weigh 68 pounds and push 1200 in A-2

You'll want something handy that could safely absorb the impact of any swings... once you manage to get it moving, you likely wouldn't be able to stop it... and woe to any stray appendages/pieces of furniture in the way!

That video was great.

Once you get this sword, all you will need is a Mateba, and a scantily dressed animal-woman.... You'll be living the nerd dream, man.
 
Haha, I thought you might be talking about something else when I first saw your post. After playing FF, and seeing FF: Advent Children, I really wanted one BAD! :p So I did a little looking around, and there are some on Ebay that are supposedly fully functional, but I can't vouch for that. Good luck, and you WILL post pics/vids if you ever get one! :p

But, honestly, I think I'd still rather have Sephiroth's sword..... :D

Why not just contact they guy in that video? Seriously though, it looks about as much fun as swinging a car door..... :)

This is a more reasonable sword project. It's a real old thread, but frickin' cool. A functional master sword! Click.

If you want something similar to Sephiroth's sword that's functional, check this beast out. I got to handle the proto at SHOT last year and it's taller than I am. Click.

However, for a Buster Sword styled thing it'll cost you ridiculous amount of money and it'll be difficult finding any serious smith to make something that's basically of fantasy proportions. I understand where you're coming from, and I'm sure you can find a way to accomplish your goal, but just be aware that it won't be easy or even remotely cheap. :)

You might want more of a taper in the grind on that blade. Such a shallow grind will throw off the balance quite a bit. Perhaps something more like a cavalry saber style grind with a broad fuller. Or multiple fullers like a Cinquedea. I can post some pics of examples if you'd like. You design is far from impossible, but just needs a lot of engineering to make it something that is also functional.
