But I just can't help myself... I NEED the Battle Rattle / Bushwacker Mistress. :D

Bring it Boss!!! BRING IT!!!!

I've actually sold all my mistresses since the last time this thread was active. They were mostly too fat and difficult to handle! :foot::foot::foot:

All jokes aside I let them go so I could try to focus my collection a bit, but they are sorely missed. I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up with another sometime in the future.

This thread cost me alot of money when you started it! but now I'm back down to one and it'll stay that way forever. no need for any other mistress once you have an NMFBM!

think what you guys are doing to the newbies.... if you just started collecting and didn't have one, and saw all these guys with the most beautiful knives and not just one or two but dozens. It's just plain mean! You know lots of these are so very limited that to even want some of these would be crazy!
LOL, but I guess it's nice to see what crazy beautiful ones look like :)

you know, I have yet to find a mistress I was 100% happy with. The basic 9 and the cghogfsh are both perfect to me, they feel complete with the handle slabs and steel feeling solid and vibration free when shocked.

I haven't tried the stardard battle mistress, but I have tried the bme, terror monkey bme (with the less severe handle mod), ffbm and the fbmle. Both of the bme's felt a little neutral to me, mostly because of the wide pinky part of the handle. had it thinned out toward the pommel I may have felt differently. The ffbm felt like a piece of barstock in my hand, very heavy but also... not quite right. I don't know if theres a way to fix what I felt was wrong with it, but it didn't come off as "perfect" like the above mentioned models. the fbmle was much to neutral in the hand for me. for a knife that big I wanted it to be a little blade heavy.

The cg slabbed nmfbm I have suffers from a similar situation as the ffbm, in that it feels like a piece of bar stock. I sounds like barstock when you tap it. don't get me wrong, I love all of them, but not like I love the cghogfsh or the basic 9. those were perfect. the bm's always came off as not quite there to me.

If you like the Basic 9 then the SHBM's will feel perfect...but expensively so. I like the NMFBM with the larger hand shaped grips which I sanded slightly to my ideal size and this knife is my most used Busse as it fits in my issue Golok sheath and can easily pass off as issued kit when on my belt or strapped to my Bergan. I stripped and convexed mine for a fully convexed blade then had it bead blasted. This thinned it down slightly and with the exception of the Zilla is the most effective chopper I have ever used....you can also use it like a machete if you keep doing the "push ups" for arm strength LOL....seriously though this makes for a nicely balanced knife IMO....used mine to demolish an old fruit orchard and clean out the brambles...it worked fine...

It took virtually all the day to do the job...it was just getting to be dusk when I finished...

Brilliant working knife IMO...

My other Mistress is a Satin Military Overrun without an LE number and with my favourite Black Linen Magnum grips....

I also sanded these down to a smooth finish to fit my hand better and avoid "hotspots"....

Enhances the looks on the knife to me....

Convexed and stropped the edge as well....this one can cut very nicely....

Since then she has seen a fair bit of use...now dropped the point a bit by re-profiling the spine and she can stick a lot better too:thumbup:

Have you tried the FBM, the ones that are .27 or the CGFBM? The come in different handles too... Different people like different things. Life is short, try them all!

You should try the 2007 FBM SE.

It's .270" thick with a saber ground blade...
shoud give you that blade heavy feel without feeling like bar stock.

I think both the CG and .270" full flat ground variations will still feel too neutral for you. :)

I will put my contribution and my only two BM's

But if I had the money I certainly would like as many as some of you HOGS!

My vote for best BM would be the rare "FBM PROTOTYPE" ones with the hand shaped G10 and spear point.
I should have kept one of those but :foot::foot:
