I was introduced to Great Eastern Cutlery knives here on this forum. Who else?
Wowee Where have GECs been all my life? How could I NOT know about Great Eastern Cutlery?!
They are American made, too. That's my favorite part.

86 2 Acorn Barlow and the 92 are my faves

Thanks again, folks

Well, the 2 you have are bad ass. I have an 86, 92, teeny tiny 05, and an H10 (H10 im going to give to my nephew)
Ive only bought them here on the forum they are always sold out everywhere I look but i got a good deal on mine here on bf.

I never heard of them before BladeForums, but I don't get around much.

I bought them before they were sold out in minutes....like almost any other knife. You picked what you wanted and ordered it.

I remember those days. 42 loc back, 65 lockback, 72 lockback's all available in Ebony, African Blackwood, etc. I bought a bunch of them for $80's up to low $100 range. Not only do the knives seem near impossible for me to get but they rarely seem to get around to the models I like the most. Out of 8 or so I bought I never had any imperfections or needed warranty.

ive never seen any gec in stock anywhere ever -except i did just buy 4 GEC leather slips from DLT

I would love to get into GEC more in the 71s and 21s as I love the Sodbuster but the secondary prices are just to rough. I've got two 71s I got new at good prices and that'll be it for the time being. One day when I complete my goal of having every sod buster made then I will move on to GEC versions

Me too
Never heard anything GEC till two years ago !
Got two now
Maybe one or two will be added someday ...

Yup I heard about them here. I've never been hugely into most traditionals but some of them I see are very beautiful and I'd love to have some. I am pretty excited that my dad found an old stag Case wharncliffe knife I had and is sending it in the mail as we speak!

I have two. A 92 Eureka Jack and a 33 Conductor. I did discover them because of Blade Forums but have moved on from them. Part of what makes me like a knife is actually being able to get it and unfortunately GEC does not meet that criteria. I'm not chasing after drops or paying asinine aftermarket prices.

I did but still can't get one. Lame model. Not sure if it would still be good if it was readily available..? Or is it just the forced scarcity that's in play here.

Either way, they look great

I learned of them here and collected them for a short time. That was just before they became very difficult to get new and expensive on the secondary market. Honestly, they’re ok for the retail prices but I wouldn’t pay the crazy secondary prices. I think you can get more bang for you buck elsewhere.

These are the ones that remain in my collection.

I have two of them, but I refuse to scramble, scratch, and scour to get a two hand pinch knife as is required to get one currently.

I was gifted one by a kind member here. Nice quality but a bit of blade play. I bought a Beer Scout 2nd for Father's Day a few years ago, and I really like it.

That said, while I find their quality heads and shoulders above Case, I just don't carry/collect traditional enough to warrant the effort. I would gladly pay the price they command, but I find "the hunt" tedious and will just go buy another Microtech instead.
