Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

While too big for the pocket, this one rides along in my work bag pretty much every day.

I must confess that I have turned more and more into fixed blades. Small Finnish puukko's make nice pocket size utility blades. My newfound love of karambit needs a pocket k-bit.

I've been carrying an Izula the past week or so, and am waiting on a kydex holster for my BK16 to try out.

Still loving my Minimalist a lot. It sharpens SO easily...coffe mug, curb, car window...really, almost anything can be used to tune up this little guy.

So much, that I bought the Tanto and Bowie as well to rotate them. They are hopefully arriving here before the 25th! Can anyone comment on those or comoare them with the Wharncliff version? Thanks!

I use the bowie everyday at work in the Marine Corps and love it I have used it to cut coax cable, cat5, rope along with numerous other stuff works great

Hard to beat any of them as your first neck knife. Bowie = beautiful, strong, curved. Wharncliff: Lightest, sharpening-friendly, ultra detailed work capabilities. The other are good as well, but these two are the best IMO. Only neck knife I like as much is the Spyderco ARK, but that's another league and price point...

Thank you for the review sir! I think i'll go with the bowie, as my neck knife would be used for harder cutting tasks! Does it take long to get an edge on it? And do i have to be real good with freehand sharpening to use the coffee mug technique?
All the best,
Kevin

Less than a couple minutes, depending on technique and sharpening material.

I just find the proper angle and draw circles with the blade touching the ceramic. If it's a really agressive ceramic I just use minimal force, barely touching the steel as I do small O movements that go from tip to base of the blade.

That way it gets razor sharp (I can easily shave using most common mugs, glasses and cups) and ready to use! If you don't know how to do it yet Youtube is full of videos of more capable and professional guys who show tutorials and how-to videos!
