Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

Another look at the Essential before I turn in...

I just love seeing that guy get some outdoor time. All my Essentials have been "re-homed". The G3s have taken their spots. The mini-Aurora is still holding her own, though. That one really hit a sweet spot for me in a little larger carry but still a good everyday size. She's sorta like a Northstar EDC on steroids.

This is my newest. Fred Perrin Le Grand Bowie. Pretty cool knife. Full flat ground 12C27 Sandvik razor sharp out of the box. It's very thin and very light. Sheath sucks so I'm gonna try to find either a new one or someone to make me a new one.

I'm thinking about carrying one, I currently have a stainless Izula and I have another small custom fixed blade on the way. However, I'm still searching for the perfect leather pocket sheath. I'm not a huge fan of Kydex or belt carry, so that's the one hang up for me.

Knives ship free has some pretty decent looking leather pocket sheaths.

I used to carry an Mini Fox River but now days I just don't have the real estate. When you add a pistol and mag to your belt, then try and carry a wallet, flashlight, car keys and phone it's almost impossible to add a fixed blade back in. I had to settle for a Spyderco PMII.

This is often my problem also. I have enjoyed this thread very much. I have been carrying this one lately.

Yep, the Essential comes with me now and then, and I love it. But, as you probably know, I have a couple G3's as well - and they see a lot more carry time than the heavier BRKT's. But, I'll tell you what, this CRKT Obake is getting carried a lot as well (tucked inside my waistband as the designer demonstrated at SHOT SHOW this year). I love my G3's, but the Obake is much lighter (especially when you factor in the sheath weights), and you get an extra 1/2" in blade length to boot. I dig the traditional Japanese style design, as well:

Oh yeah man I love this knife it's the perfect size and weight thanks agian
What steel is it? Also could we get a pic of it in the sheath on the belt? I've been wanting one for a while but just can't tell how big it really is. Thanks.

Looking good man. Reeeeeal good.

Sure, just for you, seriously:

Btw, the "ED" part of EDC means "Every Day," or close to it, in case you didn't already know...
Hahaha. Nice Obake buddy. ;)

This ones for you Derek...
My swamp walk with a Bark River Ultralight Bushcrafter in full height grind. Don't know why I haven't shown it sooner. Such an amazing knife.
