Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

Mike Morehouse made this one for me about 3 years ago and it goes to work with me every day and definitely earns it's keep.

I am going to get the Esee Izula (the original, shorter one, not Izula 2). This is because I want a edc fixed blade that should fit the front pocket or carried horizontally on the belt. I am planning to make some mods. First is the stripping of the entire knife of coating and forcing a patina. I have also planned to make some modifications to the blade. Has anyone made a swedge to the back of the blade to make the point "pointier"? Can it be done with a dremel?

I have considered also the handle scales, allthough wrapping the handle with paracord would give a slimmer and more portable knife with less printing in the pocket or under shirt. If I strip and patinate the knife I have not ruled out making my own handle scales of wood, maybe oak. Then they would be fixed permanently, glued and pinned.

The sheath is fine as it is. If I make wood handles a leather sheath might be a good idea.

Looking good man. Reeeeeal good.

Feeling good! Put it through some paces yesterday. Very impressive. The steel/fit/finish is one thing but I am even more surprised about the handle. Damn comfortable and feels so lite and agile.

I finally put this TOPS mini scandi in my pocket to carry as edc. The sheath I made for a small puukko and seems it fits this knife just fine. The leather is salvaged from a pair of old boots and the sheath has a plastic liner for the blade, the sheath has also a velt to protect the stiching. The knot I made really improves the grip but looks ugly.

In the pocket the knife in it's sheath does not look like a knife at all. Very discreet and usefull little blade that I don't have to baby, just vipe it dry after use.

Agreed. Also the knife carries really well with the small footprint of the sheath. Again, I was expecting the excellent performance of the steel but the entire package really is awesomely executed!

Nice Guardian btw. It's on the short list to buy. Looks like a perfect fixed blade carry for me at work.

Kobun, out slicing up some light brush today:

Great pic L2D

Agree with Dan, the Guardian looks like a great sized EDC. Not sure why I haven't picked one up yet

Today:

A folder of some sort is always with me, but when there's prying, digging, twisting and rough cutting angles nothing beats a fixed blade, even if it's a cheap MAXAM brand one...

I just picked up a 3v guardian 3, showed up today, gonna try a fixed blade for the day tomorrow! I got the 3v with 3D black McCarty scales, very nice in hand!

Someone should count how many Bradford guardian's are in this thread.
Going to have to get me one. I know it's Appel's and oranges but I would like to see a comparison \ review of the guardian and BK11\14 or Izula .
