Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

Hey, how does that feel in the hand? I am tempted to try that or the street bowie out.

All those lines, scratches, and scuffs on the blade are just from me carrying it for the last two weeks - It's really, really, really nice to use. The grip is perfect and the texturing is almost painful (it feels sharp, but not actually abrasive or anything) but that makes sense given that it's called the "aqua salt" so I imagine it's designed to stay in your hands in any conditions. The balance of the knife is right at the center of topmost finger groove, so it feels very light in the hand and easy to maneuver. I really like it!

I actually picked this up and a Street Bowie at the same time, and pretty much immediately sold the bowie. The bowie is great for self defense and everything, but it doesn't have the blade shape or robustness that I was hoping it would have that would allow me to carry and use it as an EDC knife like I can with the Aqua Salt. Heck, I'd carry a Counter Tac or a push dagger over the Street Bowie if I wanted EDC + self defense in one. For some reason, DE blades work really well for me in daily cutting chores (quick and dirty picture because I'm headed out):

Here's my pocket sized knife made from a scrap file that I carry. It was a lesson in tooling leather and heat treating the unknown steel. The leather worked out for the better. It's ugly, simple, and will be replaced when worn out by a similar blade,(probably from what's left over from my next few blades).

HELP! Has anyone tried tightening the Izula sheath? This sheath is not kydex so I have no idea what it would take. I have formed kydex sheaths by dipping them in boiling water and by heating with hot air. Can either be done with this plastic sheath? The rattle is annoying me.

I found out that Izula fits my Enzo Elver sheath, so I might get an extra one. The leather sheaths are available separately.

If you have a spare strap of leather, slotting it in should work just fine. I have done it before on several sheath.

My plastic Izula sheaths (and my Rat 3's and 4's, for that matter) all rattle a bit - some worse than others. But out of more than a dozen RAT fixed blades, though, only one of the sheaths rattles so much as to be annoying. For most of them, I don't even notice it in daily carry. I have seen people drill small holes and wrap strong thin cord through the hole(s) and around the spine-side or bottom-side of the sheath. Don't know if doing that helps, though.

Did you glue it in place?

Sometimes. Frequently, it just stays in place. You will have to check for yourself, because each sheath is different. Any craft store will have scrap leather by the pound.

I have my mind set on trying to EDC a fixed blade. I have had my eyes set on an Esee Izula for a while. How hard is it to adapt the stock sheath for horizontal belt carry? Or, does anybody have a recommendation on such a sheath for that knife?

I did what you suggested but used the soft side of a piece of welcro glued in place. It works. I might have to sand the inside of the sheath lightly to fine tune the retention.
