Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

So, here's a question I've been mulling over - has anyone had a Kydex sheath for a Puuko? Is it some kind of sacrilege to not use the weird dong-shaped leather numbers that are traditionally used?

Pekka Tuominen (the guy who designed Nilakka (also the Spyderco collaboration)) has puukko in his catalog that has leather and kydex sheath. Retention works so that the handle has indent where the sheath is molded to for retention.

Of course you could make the kydex friction fit, but that would cause lot of potential blade scratch and I think it's too much rear pain for lot of customers to have the trouble unless that is something you demand from maker.

Alright, cat's outta the bag. I bought it and it's great and there's no original model as far as I can tell. It's actually very nice! My only gripe is that I now see it would benefit from a guard of some sort, but that's more of a personal preference.

BK14, TKC scales, AZWELKE kydex sheath. Great setup, especially for camping.
EDIT: Having trouble posting pictures on mobile, will try in the morning!

Awesome looking FB, really like it! My carry this week:

At the moment, until the next guy arrives (should be here tomorrow), I carry the Hissatsu.
I am contemplating buying a second one and regrind this to a zero edge...

Should be a (even more) wicked slicer and stabber, but I'm not sure yet.

A D2 knife with CF handles that is erroneously and mysteriously labeled as a Custom Knife Factory product despite there being no such model. It seems to take cues from the Asymmetric folder.

It's really awesome. How did you come by it? I definitely thought it was a CKF knife just from appearance.

The same knife has been popping up on fleabay and the usual direct-from-China sites for a while now, but I ignored it until my recent switch over to regular fixed blade carry. I looked around and around and still have yet to find an original model this is a copy of, so it's some kind of weird middle-ground of original design but with markings to make it -look- like a different brand. It's like a high-quality version of those "Spyderco" junk assisted knives that have spiderweb designs on them - it's not a copy or a counterfeit, but it's pretending to be part of a product line that it isn't. I honestly don't know why they bother; I doubt anyone who has purchased them did so because they wanted it to look like a CKF knife. I would have preferred it to have a sterile appearance without markings TBH.

Even still, it's very handsome. And, somewhat gratifyingly, the logo is only visible at a certain angle.

Looks like Cold Steel did something similar. It might not be considered a traditional Puuko because of the hollow ground blade, but it does have a polymer sheath. (Not sure if it is true kydex)

They call it "secure-ex" but those pale by comparison to what they have previously called "secure-ex" - no lashing points or hardware rivets or anything. They had might as well have just stuck with cordura...
