This is my fixed blade carry rotation. I just ordered a Camillus/Terzoula CQB today after a brief conversation with Darrel Ralph (ps... fixed blade Dominator ... I can't say anything more).

And they're faster than a waved folder.

I find it a lot more convenient to throw a sheath on my belt and a slipjoint in my lighter pocket. It's nice to have both front pockets free for cash, fasteners, and girls phone numbers... ok, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

i did a couple of years ago: i'm gettin' older and it's nice to have a blade out and ready for whatever i might need it for. that being said, i still rotate 3 or 4 folders a day from traditional to modern or both. can't ever have too many;). sometimes i'll go with fixed on belt and smaller fixed in pocket,as well.
thanks, Neal

I have, and I agree on all accounts. When legally able to do so fixed is what carry.

Not I compliments of the state of MI. Even if I could carry a fixed blade on my person, I probably wouldn't. I prefer a folding knife/SAK in the pocket.

If this is about personal protection, I'm a CPL holder in MI and my S&W M&P9c is for that.

I enjoy a fixed blade carry.

How you carry is maybe more important comfort wise than what you carry. For a fixed blade I am back left hip since the glock 26 is back right hip. Folder is RFP.

Nah. I'd honestly like to make the switch, but social, legal and convenience factors say otherwise. If my situation changes and I don't have to deal professionally with the public? Heck yeah, fixed blades just give better performance, but until then folders for EDC fixed blades for the great outdoors.

I generally hate crap on my belt.
I hated a lot of things about working security, but one of the most annoying was having to wear crap on my belt.

Even in the woods, I don't like crap on my belt; a huge fixed blade carried baldric style is fine though. :)
Along with a folder (well, usually 2 or 3) naturally. ;)

So I guess my answer is no. :D

My answer is a very definitive yes. I love folders, but I'll never like them as much as I like fixed blades.

I have a few other small fixed blades with sheaths I intend to modify so that I can carry them conveniently and without causing panic. I also really want to get my hands on that new Mora!

They've been out of production for years.

No, fixed blades don't fit my lifestyle, as a blade and sheath on my belt aren't exactly office-friendly. I need a folder that can disappear in my pocket if necessary, or can be easily removed before I go into a courthouse. After work, if I'm concerned about self-defense, I drop a Ruger LCP in my back pocket.

Fixed blades are nice but there are very few times at which I need one. After hearing much ado about the Bradford Guardian 3 I decided to try a fixed blade. I bought one and made it through the better part of a week before my Dragonfly II kicked it out of my pocket- it was, at best, dead weight.

I've thought about it many times, but I'm usually in a car so most of my fixed knives are too long.
A neck knife would work ,but as a mechanic i am use to nothing on fingers or around my neck. If i still had my Simonich Pikuni i might try it for a while.

Used to IWB a Gryphon from Cutlery Shoppe, now just and old school 70's Buck 119 when I'm in the mood.

I've been carrying my little fixed blade daily for the past few weeks. It carries VERY comfortably IWB. I think I could do just fine without folders.

Nice CM...
I'm not sure of the price your new knife, soI may be asking an apples & Oranges type question...
But what is your opinion on the Ka-Bar Ek series?
I gave my EK Bowie away to a "brother" years ago, so I'm tempted to try the Ka-Bar version...
Yeah, I like the double guard...
