Who finally got their "Grail knife" this year and what was it?

Blown away by Bastid's sword. That thing is absolutely gorgeous. Worth the 7 year wait, indeed. Anyway...

There were quite a few knives that I wanted and eventually got this last year. Blew my knife budget clean out of the water by March. But there were three that were more appropriately labeled grails.

A Ken Onion Mid-Tech Ripple. Only 25 made (naturally, I missed the initial offering). Ti handles, 154CM steel, hand assembled, etc. After a very long time looking for one (at any price), I finally found one selling at the original price.

Then there was the large, bronze version of Brian Tighe's Nirk Tighe. Blue is easy to find, Bronze, not so much. Pic borrowed from Brian Tighe's site as I do not currently have a pic of mine. But it is identical to the large one below, except in bronze instead of blue.

And finally I ordered a black and gold Bodega that I will get somewhere in the Feb./March time frame. I had been wanting one of these since the original came out.

I was also fortunate enough to get a William Henry with Gold and Silver engraved bolsters but that was more of a quick buy than something that I had hunted down.

Two knives I've been lusting after for quite a while. This year It came to fruition and they were delivered within a week of each other. The more I use and enjoy them the less I want another. I know I'm still in honeymoon stage, but I do love these blades very very much and feel extremely lucky to have the pair.

This was a 7 year wait that was completed in May 2014. It took me that long to save for it. It took around 6 months for Vince to make it. Kinda odd that a person who carries and collects slipjoints for the most part has wanted it for as long as I have.
Other than his wife Grace carving the handle, the forging, inlays, engraving, grinding and build are by Vince Evans. Photos by Jim Cooper

This is my grail. Maybe this year I'll find it, or close to it. But in a small. Colorful is a requirement.

Pretty excited about picking up a ZT0302 today. See attach a pictures.

CRK's were my grail before I had any, but now my grails are a lochsa, a Michael Raymond folder, a 95 Shirogorov with carbon fiber, and maybe a direware if I could find one cheap enough (yeah, I love Ti framelocks:D)

I'll still be buying CRK's and such for a while because those other knives are currently way out of my price range. Some day, though...

My two grails that I was lucky enough to acquire this year, are my

and this Shirogorov 95t custom division

My first Sebenza/CRK a Large 21. I managed to hold out to find one born on the same day as my daughter.

Got an Umnumzaan (my first CRK) two days ago, and I'm blown away. Now I get it. Also got a Cruwear Manix earlier this month. 2 checked off my list. Only the Hinderer remains...

Well there go your edges!

Actually, they held up just fine:thumbup: I was a little worried about that myself, but I didn't want to miss that opportunity for a great picture. I was actually more concerned about getting sand in my Thorburns IKBS system:eek:

I picked up what I never thought would be my favorite, and now grail- a 3rd generation ZT0550. I now have 4 ZTs, and recently added a custom FDE G-10 scale to my 0550. Amazing knife. Sorry to see it discontinued.
