Who got dinged for their gso 5?!!

Good luck to everyone receiving your GSO 5s. I know that the wait is killing you, but the knife will be worth it once it is in your hands. I have never been disappointed with any aspect of a Survive! knife. They are worth the wait.

I just got my factory 2nd 5 in the mail. With my 3.5, I could see why it was a 2nd as the etchings were faint...with this 5, I have no idea, it's perfect, but hey, I'm glad I was able to pay $155 for it!

It looks great with the natural micarta (no pics yet...well, I have some but they're not BF appropriate - some tastefully done nudes)...can't wait to get my Starters to see the new finish. I've got to say, I thought the 3.5 was sharp, this 5 is WAY sharper. When I lightly touch it to my forearm, my hairs just fly off...now I know what hair-popping sharp truly means. And the grind is perfectly even...I've tested the entire length of the blade and it all cuts exactly the same - like a freaking light saber. I recently obtained a thin knife from a custom maker who primarily does Japanese blades, and it took the title of sharpest knife in my collection....until now. This 5 is considerably sharper...I have no idea how as the other blade is so much thinner, but Guy must have some magical grinding technique involving unicorn dust, how else does he get these things so sharp??

Dude, you had so many great points that I had to chop up and number your post.

1. Yes! Awesome news! Looking forward to pics and to hear how you like it.

2. Yes!!! Seriously a steal for the customers. I dont know what the cost of raw 3v or Guy's labor is, but I feel like we all got one or the other for free with that spring cleaning sale.

3. Dang, I bet it looks good. I'd like to get some extra scales for my starter knives at some point. And yeah I snorted out loud when I read that last part :p

4. That is crazy and awesome. I really hope Guy sees this because I think it would be a very meaningful compliment to his dedication and precision.

5. Haha!

But really, don't you think that is a little far fetched? I bet he just finishes each blade by stropping it upon his majestic beard.

package (and the knife) arrived safely today.

Hopefully we´ll get some time together this weekend!

Got mine and it's gorgeous! Camo Canvas handles and an OD sheath, wish I knew how to post a picture of it. Can't wait to get it out and use it this weekend.
