Who has medfords?

I find it odd that your a knife enthusiast but you cant understand some peoples affection for big knives. What is the obsession with practicality? If we were really only going for function than why carry a 3.5 inch blade when a 3 inch one works just as well, its just more weight after all.

It's not about the people that like them, it's the hype that surrounds them.

Apparently I'm coming off as a troll because I asked a legitimate question: "what does a Medfords cut-ability compare to?".

The ZT's I own don't cut that well due to the thickness and geometry; my Thorburn L51 cuts better. However, my Spyderco Mule Team cuts even better than the Thorburn, and my slipjoints cut better than the Mule Team! I have no problem pointing out the pros and cons of knives, but it seems that some people do!

^^^ "It's better for ME, so it must be better for YOU"....logic, can't argue that....

In your own words.....This is why I feel the need to "piss in the punch bowl". You're coming off as a troll because you're trolling.

Yea, because that's what I said.

Nice try;)

Essentially I am, if my criticizms are taken as "trolling"...

Pretty hard to argue with the logic that thinner geometry cuts better.. So yea it cuts better for everyone.

"My sharpened anvil cuts better for me" is ridiculous

Intent huh.. And you know what my intent is how?

My intent was dispelling the "it cuts better for me" is not exactly true. Is it? Please explain how you defy physics...
Trolling is NOT about fact, logic or reason....it's intent.

It is somewhat curious the amount of input some provide without the benefit of actual firsthand usage, and the apparent desire to do so (proclaim opinion). Yes it is discussion, but the thread is titled "Who has medfords?" and the OP was about (seemingly proud) ownership. The determined participation of non-owners with zero experience with a Medford would seem to relegate said participation to inconsequential - IMHO. I typically enjoy the postings of most everybody who has posted here, but trolling is indeed trolling, regardless of the individual involved.

This is an open forum and I said nothing negative, I said the truth. Call it what ever you like, your entitled to your opinions as am I. Don't like other peoples opinions your in the wrong place.

What he said.

It does, but the marketing schemes behind it was the premise of my argument.

I'll let you guys enjoy your Medford thread in peace now;)

Greg Medford & other makers of overbuilt folders should apologize for making knives that SOME people like & want to buy.

I didn't say I don't like other people's opinions shinyedges, I said I find it curious the apparent desire to bash Medford knives in a thread titiled "Who has medfords?" by people that don't have or haven't ever had one. It isn't a "are medford's any good" or "don't you think medford's are dumb" thread, in which IMHO it would be more logical to denigrate them.

There is no Medford subforum for their fan's to hang out, so to me it seems in bad taste to continue to post in this particular thread negative comments about Medford products.

Also, please note I didn't post about you specifically in post #51; I have no quarrel with you. :)

Truthfully I didn't intend on bashing Medford I have considered them on more than one occasion. The deal breaker for me is no disassembly though.

I did poke humor at the geometry of some Medfords but with no mal intent, I spoke my peace and have no quarrel with you either.

Same thing happened to my review thread of my old Praetorian. I was showing actual usage pics and it turned into an identical situation we have here. Then it got closed down.

I just don't understand how you can claim something is hard use when the lock bar cutout leaves a sliver of titanium you can barely see.
