Really liking this steel! Interested in seeing other traditional knives with this wonderful tool steel.

This is my group, a moose by Jared Oeser, a Blind Horse Knives Maverick Colt and a GEC Hayin Helper.

672 layers of O1 and L6

I only have one, but I like it.
The GEC Bull Nose "Sodbuster". The precursor to your Hayin Helper
Not afraid to put it to work when work needs to be done. Takes a real keen edge and maintenance is usually just a few passes on a strop loaded with Flexcut Gold.

I really like O1. And you guys stop bragging on your Oeser knives. (especially you, Jeff, that has to be his best so far)

Man oh man, some great knives so far gents! RD, most impressive sir. Looking forward too round 2 :)

Sorry Trey I cant help it :D and thanks for the compliment, I am a very proud owner lol

Yeah, I'd brag on that too. But you have some work to do to match the patina on my South African knife. That was made for me maybe a year ago.

The K'roo knife is the one I posted the pic of, Jeff. It keeps getting better with age. Sharp as all get out and the caplifter is awesome. Have you guys noticed that O1 doesn't get the wild blues and purples? Mine just went grayer and grayer.

Nice, I certainly have my work cut out for me ;)

Would love to see the caplifter tool if you have a pic?

In general I dont see much color forming but I had a GEC 99 that got wild for a few days when I first got. My co-worker has showed it to me recently and its certainly all dark grey now. Ill find that pic of the patina...

Couple pics of the caplifter, shamelessly stolen from Willem's thread about that knife. He does make a nice slippy.
