Who has weird, strange and/or embarrassing names in their family?

I recently interviewed a gentleman for a position, his name on his resume was James Harry Aasman..... Last name was pronouced Azman, but of course he has been going through life being called harry a$$man.

We were talking about this topic at the office this week and one of the guys reminded me about a woman that used to work for us. When you first told somebody about her name ... they didn't believe it. You'd have to show them on the e-phone list. I'm going to likely mispell it, but here it is.

I know at least two of Frank's son's names.... Dweezul and Ahmet (sp?) I think he may have another offspring that isn't in the limelight that has a normal name.

edited to add: I think Penn's kid's name is Moxie Crimefighter!
Zappa's daughter is named Moonbeam. ;)

My wife's cousin named they're first born son... Donello BONGO!

They call him Nello (knee-lo).

My son got both of his grandfather's names as his middle names, Thomas David.

Moon Unit, actually.

Dweezil's real name is actually Ian Donald Calvin Euclid Zappa. "Dweezil" is what they called Frank's wife's goofy extra toe. They wanted to name their son Dweezil, but the nurse wouldn't allow it, so they called him Ian Donald Calvin Euclid, after all their friends who were at the hosptal. Donald, btw, is Donald Van Vilet, AKA Captain Beefheart.

Ahmet is just Ahmet, I have no idea where that came from.

The baby in the family is Diva, name so because she cried the loudest at the hospital.

My mom's name is Twila. I've never met another Twila. Her middle name is Suezanna (yes, that's how it's spelled--wrongly). She has sisters named Gayle (I've seen Gails--actually Frank Zappas wife is Gail) and Zena. Never met another Zena (not to be confused with the Warrior Princess Xena). Their brother is named Jack.

My wife had a child in thier class who's name was

Axel Folley Gomez

He had a nephew in the same grade as he (YES that is right the same grade as he was :D ) His name was.....

Mr. Gomez

YES his first name was "mr." NOT "mister" but "mr." So in the future he would be Mr. Mr. Gomez

Kid in my highschool named Thorr Starr.

Had a few college classed with Boon Flint.

The best was my father's 1950's Cornell yearbook. In the foreign students section was... Wun Hung Low!:D I remember my bothers and I giggling so much my mother came to see what what going on. She was embarrassed and amused at the same time.

My own initials are WTF. WTF, however, was missing its current connotation until the Internet came along, approximately thirty years after my birth and naming. ;)

I went to school with a William William Williams. I kid you not. Also, one of the girls in my homeroom was Candy Kane. She was very good looking, so you can imagine the "inuendo" that was passed around concerning her. In high school, there was a Jack Frost. And I worked with a guy named John Wayne, but he was nothing like the Duke; kinda lazy, slow, a bit of a druggie type.

My Great Uncle was Billy Graham. He was a tough old guy. One of the Marines who had been on Guadalcanal and Iwo. Had a tatoo of a Bulldog on his left forearm. Tough, but very good hearted. I asked him once about the Islands when I was a kid, but he wouldn't talk. I didn't understand till I read 'Flags of Our Fathers.' If you want to know a little bit about Iwo, I recommend it. Author's name is Bradley, I believe.

We had a town drunk named Waska Waska who died a few years ago.He was a Yupik and far from his coastal village. He was very likable and I kind of miss him. On my fossil buying expeditions I have met some of his relatives that live down at the mouth of the Yukon.

Had an Axel on my Dad's side, and my wife had a Magnus on her Dad's side. I thought both would be great names if I ever have a son... she doesn't agree. :grumpy:

Magnus and Axel are normal names in Scandinavia; as are Magnusson and Axelsson as surnames.(means son of Magnus and son of Axel)

Coincidence or what! :D

My name actually is Magnus Axelson :)

Regards
/Magnus

Hmmm my moms middle name is Gertrude and my dads is Sylvester. I have an uncle Les (Leslie) and an aunt "Rick" (Rickie). My brother in law has a sister named Wavie. One of my sisters is named Stella. We used to do the Brando thing "Stellllaaaaah!" and drive her nuts when we were kids.
Recently i did a few courses on campus with a Jennie Craig.lol.
Oh and my mothers cardiologist is Dr. Farty! lol.
My other sister works in a hospital and believe it or not she used to work with a Dr. No.

Grace Barnet Wing (Grace Slick of JA) named her daughter China Wing Knatner - rumor/urban legend was her and Paul tried to name her God initially......

My Dad is Elmer Theodore - went by Ted for some strange reason...

I'm simply John but picked up the Little Andy nickname during my first AF assignment (There was a 6'6" Teaxan with the same name so they called him Big Andy). I've been called Andy most of my adult life. Variations have been Andude, Der'anderthal, and Andy-Bob (after confusion about who I really was when I worked at Sears part-time). Younger son is Jonathan Robert so Andy-Bob calls him Jon-Bob. Named my older daughter Demia Lee - it's more interesting hearing people struggle with the name - we just call her Mia.

But I did Know an Airman Seaman in the Air Force and was stationed with Captain Marvel at one time....

Went to high school with a Mike Hunt, who was absent a lot and the female teacher always would call roll by full name, asking where... was.
Met an Army Private Toy, and an Airforce Lt. Hussy. Worked with a guy who went to school with the daughter of the Leer family (jets) named Shaunda(sp?).
Have known 3 girls nicknamed "Fred" for various reasons.
Wife has an Aunt Loma.

And, just because...

Off of a film cutter.

I served in the Navy with a man named Louis David Duh. His last name was actually pronounced Doo. The poor guy grew up being called Lou D Doo.

I think I would have killed my parents :D
