Who has weird, strange and/or embarrassing names in their family?

My Mother's maiden name was exactly the same as her Mother's married name.
My Aunt (Dad's sister) maiden name was also exactly the same as her Mother's married name.
If they had been guys, they would have been Juniors to their Mothers' married names.

My wife had a student whose first name was pronounced "Fa Ma Lee"...
The explanation was that when the girl was born, the hospital provided some document to the Mother with a designation on it of the baby's gender...and the Mother said the hospital had already named her child...."Female".....

Mom had a friend whose given name was Golden and she married a guy with a last name of Silver...so she became "Golden Silver".

A friend has the first name of William. They named their son William also.
We still call the father Bill or "Big Bill" and the son 'Little Bill". Big Bill is around 6 ft. tall and 190 lbs., max. "Little Bill" is currently approx. 6'-4" and an easy 220-250 lbs.....kinda outgrew that "Little"designation.

I have relatives named Garisanne, Hickory Lynn, Zhilla, (sp? it is a biblical name),and Dooley. A friend of the family christened her son Maverick, and there is a kid in the neighborhood whom nobody knows him other than as "Critter" not sure if it is his real name or not.

Went to school with Maxi Gross

Found the name Fonda Head in our corporate email directory

Used to work with a guy named Hung Dong

Teanmster president James R. Hoffa, The R. stands for Riddle.

G. Gordon Liddy's full name is actually
George Gordon Battle Liddy

My maternal Grandfather was named Raymond Otto Mathew Johnson. When he was a kid people called him Otto Mattic.
I had many relatives who were first generation immigrants from Finland. As a kid I remember an Aunt Milma and an Aunt Helmy.

Mitch Chwatt

Jason Kunz

Warren Dotz

Joe King

Miriam "Mim" Chew

I can see these don't compare with names like Fonda Head, Ben Dover, and Jack Orff,
but these were all real people I knew at some point.

Chwatt was real careful with his pronunciation, BTW.

I know a guy with the last name Kuntz.... pronounced "Koontz"
I also worked with a tiny little spitfire redneck from Kentucky named "Inoka Stubblefield". Flaming red hair, about 5'0'' and maybe 98lbs. Everybody was afraid of her!

Went to school with a family who's last name was Dick,
There was Clayton " Clay Dick"
Howard " Hard Dick"
Sandy, and Sandy was a girl.

I swear this is the truth

I went to school with a guy named "Dat Boi" as a kid. I couldn't help but smirk when talking to him, strange guy.....always wore white gloves and wore Mickey Mouse clothing. I guess Disney is popular in Vietnam :D. It's was just funny seeing it on a 16 year old.

I also went to grade school with a kid named Judge Wedging. Called him the Wedgemeister. He suffered through some vicious wedgies as I recall.

Almost every one I know has a nick name. Let's see there's Susie, Toby, Toot, Poo-Ollie, Rabbit, Thumper. Bubba, Razor, Big John, Little John, John-John (none where related and none where named John), Goat, Griddly and Catfish just to name a few.

Everyone in my father's family had a nickname.

My Uncle Francis was called "Buzzy" or "Buzz" after someone commented that his legs looked like a buzzsaw when he ran while playing in high school football games. Uncle Clarence was called "Marco" after playing Marco Polo in a school play (who would want a handle like 'Clarence' anyway?) Aunt Dolly was always Aunt Dolly, I can't remember her real name. Aunt Tootsie's real name was Evelyn. The only kid who got to keep his given name was Walter, or "Wally". My father, Tommy, was called "Toto." Legend has it that this was a name for a doll or toy he was fond of. I thought he was nicknamed after the dog in 'The Wizard of Oz' but he was 12 yrs old when the movie came out.

I, Tom Jr., became "Tommy Tote", after "Toto" and later because of a picture of me on the beach in California with a tiny pail and a tiny shovel. I guess I carried a lot of stuff around in that pail.

Here's the odd one: My sister Maryann was called "little chicken" which she repeated as "chee-chee". That evolved into "Cheech" which morphed into "Cheechee Dookie, " "Dookie Doo," and "Dook." Everyone else called her Maryann, only my father called her "Cheech" or "Dook." Go figure.

I still have many nicknames: Bermshot, Big Block, Big Eye, Buck, Mr. Belvedere, The Gila Bender, Tommy the Beltfed, and just plain Tom.

My wife had an aunt that was named ... ready for this ...
Lima P. :D .. that's right ... no middle name .., just the initial..

It gets worse .. nobody ever called her Lima ... She was nicknamed:
Lil Bit ... and as an adult ..., they called her .. Bit..

I've also run accross some interesting names over the years at my company. I'll likely butcher the spellings, but here are three that stand out in memory.

Yuman Klump
Ninava Betchadocum
Susan Phunphuk

As you can imagine, the owners of these fine names didn't pronounce them the way they read ... :D

Knew a kid in high school named Richard Short. Parents and friends called him Dickie Short... Of course the poor guy had to put up with an endless amount of teasing. What in the hell were his mom and dad thinking??

My dad's brother was named Walfrid (Finnish, & not too common). My dad's fathers middle name was Sanford. Two uncles on my moms side were called Juicy and Spurkey (Spurkey was also called Hack). A local guy who passed away a few years back was named: Chester Fields. I can't understand why a parent would do that to a kid (for you younger ones, Chesterfields was a brand name of cigarettes quite a few years ago).

I had a great uncle named Vester and we had the same birthday.
Vester had a brother named Olen
my grandfather (vester's brother) was named Adren
Adrens wife was Novella and her last name before their marriage was Human they are from a place called sunbright, tennessee
my dad's middle name is Blane
