:D I only have 5 right now, 16 years old, been buying since 14. I don't like to buy things I don't need.

Next on my list is a Benchmade Mini-Skirmish, and maybe a Benchmite 2 for the heck of it... probably just let my mom carry it on her keychain though, and if I like it look for an original Benchmite one day.

Wow, that's 8, total. I made it! :D Of course, I'm not counting the 3 fixed blades I've made myself - they were practice ;) Once I've refined my skills, then the self-made knives will count :P I've also lost two knives, a Cold Steel Gunsite II and a Case Amber Bone CV Texas Jack. Both of those knives were wonderful and are missed!

I thought I had under ten, but just did the math. Nope, it's 11 (all but two are folders, and most of the folders are small SAKs, I have to admit).

Lately, after getting the XM-18, I haven't really felt a big urge to get another knife like I normally do. I'm even thinking of getting rid of the Caly 3 & CQC14, bringing me down to 2.
 
Just like wifes or girlfriends (husbands or boyfriends if you are the opposite sex), won't you feel guilty when you don't have enough attention for each of them?
 
I hate to say it, but most of you are light-weights! I have over a 100 knives. Some I use, some are shelf queens, some I "just had to have", etc. I have lots of folders, but I have a real affinity for fixed blades...it can be a sickness ;)

what do you do for a living and are they hiring? :D
 
I know some collectors with just a few knives, but they're all very, very expensive. And, I know that "expensive" is a relative term, but generally we're into the $600+ range and up to several thousand a piece for exotics or custom jobs.

Still, they always seem have so many more knives stashed away in drawers and such places, which they just "don't count".

Not so sure it's a matter of self control. If I have a couple hundred dollars burning a whole in my pocket, I could: 1) add it to my savings or investments; 2) buy something nice for someone I love; 3) give it to charity; 4) buy another knife!

I like to be fair with myself, so about every one out of four times I experience this problem, I get the knife. That's my idea of self control, anyway. :)

I would honestly hold onto those 2 knives. For whatever reason, reading your post immediately made me think, "Hmm, he oughta hold onto those." For what it's worth, of course :)
