In all the lists on these 3 pages only one Laguiole is listed ???
Come on guys, you should all enjoy such a stylish, elegant, classic EDC knife in your collection !!!
Despair not, I have one.
I'm hovering at around ten decent knives, depending on how one counts. All of them are users, I'm not much of a collector.
-Spyderco Manix, full size, foliage green version. My latest and greatest. Much rejoicing when I got this one.
-Benchmade 710D2. My ongoing sharpening project and cause of much toil and trouble. Blood, sweat and tears may yet follow.
-Buck 110, plain-Jane 420 HC version. Very nice, no wonder it's a classic. I wanted one for years until I finally got it.
-Laguiole knife in Sandvik 12C27, snakewood scales. Beautiful shape and sharpens well, a nice "suit pocket knife". I wouldn't chop branches with it but who would?
-Victorinox Soldier and
Cadet. I like the alox handled models for their robustness and they are, well, great. These are what I have in a pocket about always and everywhere.
-Large Tommi puukko ("Moose Tommi") from knifesmith Marko Tihula. The sharpest knife I've ever had, probably the most beautiful as well in a less-is-more way. After this, factory-made puukkos didn't feel like much.
-Camillus Pilot Survival Knife. I got one just before Camillus went out of business, again one of those knives I had wanted for years. Wife says it's the ugliest knife she's ever seen but I like it.
-Some odd souvenir sailors sheath knife. Came dull as a butter knife, but I'm getting some kind of edge on it. Testing ground for sharpening angles and equipment. Might work as picnic knife when I'm done with it.
-Generic all-round-use puukko. This is for a bit of ancient folklore: I have it mounted on a bracket above the bedroom door, this way no evil spectre or accident can enter there, they can't defy a steel blade. I'm not actually very superstitious but I think it's a nice idea and a way of respecting old beliefs a bit.
Then there's a couple of Leatherman multi-tools around too, but they aren't much use to me as knives. Besides, the knife tips are broken on both, I have been a careless boy it seems..
Sorry for the long post, btw. I didn't mean to make such a gear review of it when I started.
