This thread reminds me of when I spent a year on Lake Athabasca. I was shooting spruce grouse, then later ptarmagins, with a .177 cal. air rifle. Head and neck shots, it had a cheap little 4 power on the 760 single pump. I lined up on a grouse when poof !, the grouse went bonkers and fell down. A native came through the bush and smacked the grouse with his sling shot. Surprised the hell out of me, lol !

Whenever I go in the woods I carry one of these, mainly for fun, but I imagine that a golf ball sized stone would drop a rabbit. Not a sling shot I know, but similar in function.

I have a couple slings but I think I am going to be one of the people who doesn't have the time or the space or natural talent to utilize it except using it on a hiking staff to make a staff sling out of it.

I'm very much oriented as a wristrocket guy. :)

here's a few recent additions of mine.. :D the first 2 are from Perry over at A+ Slingshots..the lighter/smaller one is a pecan stained PS-1, for the misses and the other is a walnut stained PS-2, for me.. these things are amazing shooters... they're really comfortable to use and extremely accurate... Perry is a great guy to deal with too...:)

Did a bit of testing with the various sling shot bands. The marksman bands were 15lbs at a 28" draw. The Marksman Heavy bands were 19lbs at the same. The Chinese made double bands were 20lbs at 28" I made some double bands out of Theraband green tubing and there about 45lbs at 28"
The 45lbs bands are giving me quite a forarm workout.
