Who likes GECs? Let's see 'em!

Nice eswartz. This is my new reference page for GEC eye candy. I wish they'd do another run of dead skunk cubans. Love the kryptonite acrylic too.

I only own a single Northfield. She's a good one though.

eswartz Some of your stag collection is massively impressive, even showing some Old School popcorn stag by the look of it! I think you should downsize, live simple and put your collection on giveaway.....really tasteful stuff.

My wife would agree with you.

Eric.

I only have 2 GEC knives (so far), and had been "saving" my Tidioute #25 Barlow for future carry. After seeing this thread I decided it was time to start carrying it. I polished the blade so the "1 OF 50" and "Tidioute Cutlery" doesn't show (personal preference). I have been carrying it since Saturday and am looking forward to many, many years of service from this one.
The blades take a wicked edge, easily one of the sharpest knives I carry, and just tonight I saved my daughter's dance instructor from ruining her pen attempting to open a box:D It's always nice to give a slippie a chance to show itself as a productive member of society:cool:

You can "remove" the etching with a light rubbing compound, or Flitz. I used an automotive clear coat rubbing compound and a 100% cotton terry cloth towell on this one. Takes the color right out of it.

My other GEC happens to be my favorite "big" slippie.

My thought exactly. :D I knew I was just a small fry. Convincing Eswartz and some others like him to come out of the woodwork is the real purpose of this thread. Keep 'em coming, lads!

I had contacted Eric through PM since he and I are both in Austin and found out he worked not far from where I do so I met up with him at noon today.

Of course we talked about knives, GEC, vintage Case, etc. and he showed me a neat little GEC easy open in stag. Nice little knife! Very pleasant guy to talk with! I could've talked with him for hours but unfortunately had to come back to the office.

BTW, I was pretty sure Eric said he over 100 GEC knives in his collection! Should we ask for individual close up photos of each one? :)

Got a really nice 73, a 23 is in my future. Almost pulled the trigger on one on Knives Live TV on Friday, but passed on it.

She is purty. I thought she might be the last, but I saw another one out there this afternoon.

Beautiful knives guys! This thread has really hit me in the old wallet. In a fit of weakness, I ordered 3 more GECs this afternoon. Oh, these lovely things are addictive! I just couldn't bear the thought of not having one of each of the frame types. I NEEDED a sleeveboard and a sunfish, and there was an EZ-opener that was too purty to pass up....

Help!!!
