Never a fight I respect every person!
Whatever you got in good 3VWhich knife?
CPK doesn’t have a lifetime unconditional warranty? I always thought they did.Ive abused Busse and CPK for years and Busse has held an edge better. That being said Busse has thicker edge angles so not fair to compare.....
I love CPK.
But ill always take Busse for abuse.
Also, like petey said... warranty.

CPK doesn’t have a lifetime unconditional warranty? I always thought they did.
Some of my Busse knives I’ve put to tasks with “I know it’s stupid, but Jerry said it’s guaranteed no matter what…” in the back of my mind.
When I got my Basic 9 I alternated between using it with wild abandon and outright trying to break it. It’s held up just fine for 24 years and is in my son’s possession to continue the legacy of brutality.
The CPK rough use warranty:
If your knife ever fails for any reason, short of intentionally breaking it, I will replace, repair or refund. Broken tips are repointed. Broken scales are replaced with the material of my choosing.
I have found this to be true except in the most extreme of circumstances. For example, pitting Dozier D2 against chinesium “D2”. They’re completely different animals. Dozier’s D2 farts rainbows.Maybe they both have figured out a 10 percent performance increase...
Cowboy up! The reality is pretty much all of you will never be able to distinguish different ht given same exact profile from different makers with their optimized heat treats.
This struck me as funny because I’ve talked to lots of CPK guys who were like “well, on the 3rd iteration of the HMNDEK2 they changed the choil and the handle radius and increased the overall length by .5mm. Plus they added hand buffed llama fur micarta as a handle material option and moonbeam exposed titanium hardware.”Of course, handle comfort etc is not addressed by my suggestion above. As far as CPK Hummers go...HDMC, DEK2 and the upcoming FBFK

But then say they can’t get into Busses because they can’t keep up with all the nomenclature.
I own blades from both companies. I've never ran my swords from either through abuse tests, but I do use their smaller fixed blades. I do know that I find CPK's ergonomics to fit my hand a lot better. I've also seen people hit bolts and metal during bad cuts with a CPK that resulted in no edge damage.I wouldn’t think CPK and Busse Combat 3V would be all that different. They both seem to have dead nuts heat treat protocols.
In the case of equal materials and comparable heat treats it’ll all boil down to geometry… and lets face it - it’ll be like a Ferrari (CPK) vs. a Hummer (Busse).
I have owned both. The 3V Ratmandu and the BFK very similar in size. I really like both knives. I couldn’t say if one steel was better. I’m sure they are both great. The difference I could tell was in the edge geometry. The BFK was a better all around cutter for this reason. The Ratmandu was a little more bombproof for the same reason. I give the edge to BFK.So, who here has actually used both SR-3V and CPK's Delta ? Just wondering, since there are not too many SR-3V knives around. E.g., who has compared an RMD with a BFK ?
