Who Makes The Highest Performance CPM-3V On The Market Today?

I look at design first, steel has to be good enough. If it exceeds expectations, be it D3V, Infi, or SR77, so much the better.

My favorite Busse is the DSF. Nothing similar in the CPK offering. My favorite CPKs are UF and Shiv. Nothing similar in the Busse offering.

It’s GREAT to have choices.

I like Ztuff too, if you catch my drift :)

Why limit yourself to one maker ?

I have knives from both, I will give the handle ergos and finishing to CPK. And the fact that they come with a sheath, which means I am more likely to use them immediately. That being said, the sharpest knife I've ever received was a sjtac in the comp finish? that came with a ridiculous convex edge. Of course one of my not so bright friends chopped into a rock with it and chipped the edge . I still use it for hard use tasks. And my swamp rat tomahawk goes with me on every road trip.

So they both are great. I saw Jerry's pic of when he was a blacksmith and he was very pretty, and Nathan has that luscious hair. Really, who can pick a favorite? And do we need to? In the words of a wise man who gave me a cigar and some scotch at Bladeshow many years ago, "let's drink!"

Id go against that big blade in a power chopping contest with my BB13 any day. Edit to add: I thought this was a CPB blade at the time, I wouldnt have run my mouth had I known it was a Huntsman Knives blade. I checked it out and it looks to be one hell of a badass knife at a great price.

Would love to see some pics of this if you go for it Roland! I've seen tests showing the prowess of both the BB13 and Basic 13 but not so much of that Tyrant bowie yet. Should be a good show!

I know I'm way off topic here from both your point and the thread topic, but had to be that devil on your shoulder telling you to go for it, lol

I don't know if you have seen this thread or not. It starts off with the Fell Beast then goes onto the Tyrant. Apologies if it is old news. https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/a-very-detailed-review-of-huntsman-knives.2049448/

First, we'd have to figure out the test criteria :) If I'd have to cut half a pig into pork chops, I'd probably take the Bowie. I'd probably also carry the Bowie when the Zombies come. If I'd need to de-branch a tree, I'd probably take the BB13.

The Bowie feels like a reincarnation of the classic fighter (like an oversized Forefather Bowie), where the BB13 is very much a classic Bolo. And the Bowie is more massive than the BB13 (.29" vs .25").

I've baton'ed the Bowie (and cut my finger afterwards when cleaning it), but the swedge makes it a little harder, than using - say - my MMD. You can see pics in Hunter's forum.

Go for it. I might prefer my own BB13 for chopping, unless I also have to stab something. Wasn’t my point though.

Hmm, sounds like I REALLY got to get me a MOAB now :D :thumbsup:

Oh and I am dumb af, I thought that big Bowie was CPM, my apologies to Huntsman Knives for the mis-identification.
