  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Who makes the smoothest folder you've handled? >>

People always call the sebenza a very smooth knife.
They are but i have knives that are much smoother.

My Barong was the smoothest spyderco.
The Rukus for benchmade.
My Burger exk1 is also very light and smooth.

But at this moment my carpenter steel manix2 is probably the smoothest knife i own.

For me it was my original Benchmade Ares. That was about 10 years ago I guess. I owned three Sebenzas that weren't even close to it. Axis lock:)

I would have to say Spyderco SS ATR and Benchmade Rukus, with the ATR being the smoother of the 2

I would agree with the OP. My Obenauf is really smooth, but my smoothest I have handled is either the HK 14205 or 635 mini-skirmish. The Umnumzaan is up there as well.

When I think smooth, I think very easy in and out of the pocket, quick and easy glide-like opening, solid lockup with no blade play, and it just melds to your hand. After taking all this in I have to say I have a couple of extremely smooth knives in my collection.

Hands down, without a doubt my smoothest knives are my two RJ Martin Q-36's. Explanation is not needed. Handle a Q-36 and know true smoothness.

Following behind RJ's Q-36's are Tim Galyean's Pro-Series Junkyard Dawgs. Amazingly smooth.

Finally, my AG Russell Acies is about the smoothest knife I own that isn't a flipper. A little flick of the thumb and the knife opens solidly every time.

Furion by David Mosier.

I've got many William Henrys and CRKs that are all smooth wonderful knives but this P-38, made by MS Mike Vagnino, is far and away the smoothest folder I've ever handled.

Of the ones I've handled & owned:

#1.Todd Begg Glimpse(MIG)

#2.CRK Umnumzaan tied with a DDR Trigger Maze

#3.Hinderer XM-18

Smoothest folder I've ever handled is my SOG Mini Vulcan. Believe it or not, that thing comes out like a bat outta hell. It just feels so natural.

The smoothest folder I've ever handled is this Todd Begg IKBS Gent's Glimpse. It has a buttery-smooth pivot and a deeply rounded and contoured organic design. There isn't a sharp angle or hard edge to be found anywhere on the handle or clip.

Click the thumbs for high-rez.

It's a tie between Mike Snody Hybrid and G&G Hawk T.O.A.D. Both are smoother then glass.

Most of my Benchmades are super smooth - as is my ZT-301, Buck 172 TNT, Kershaw 1725SG2, etc - but they've been used! Out of the box, my pusher favorites are the Large Sebbie and LE Lone Wolf Defender - big wow!

Smoothest knife I own is either Kershaw JYD II Composite by Tim Gaylean or Kershaw Rainbow Groove by RJ Martin. All RJ Martin's designed Kershaw have been really Smooth, Lahar, Zing or Groove...

Lahar was designed by Tim Galyean.

A tossup between a Spyderco Manix2 CTX-XHP and a Benchmade Rift.
I have no experience with the Rift, but the Spyderco is BY FAR the smoothest folder I own, out of more than 60. Much smoother even than the BM Rukus or any other BM I own.
It seems to be completely frictionless. Uncanny.
