Who makes this Remington Barlow?

Not sure.....first I have heard of it......but Zippo is producing a line of lighters with the Remington / bullet knife theme to go with that knife.....and Case is part of Zippo.....

Not really sure where the 40th anniversary part comes in though...2022 would be the 100th anniversary of the first Bullet Knife. 1982 is just the start of the yearly repro releases.

The first year that Remington had Camillus make their reproduction Remington knives was 1982. That was 40 years ago. I believe that is the reference for the 40th anniversary. The Remington reproduction knife made by Camillus for 1982 was the 4 1/2" R1123 Trapper. The following year - 1983 - the Remington reproduction knife was the R1173 Baby Bullet. This series of Remington reproduction knives were produced through 2004 and all were made by Camillus. SMKW had GEC make a Remington reproduction knife in 2021 - the Prospector 3 3/4" .

For what it's worth, Bear & Son is capable of making a very good knife, as evidenced by this reproduction Schrade Walden Stockman .

I'm guessing this is made by Bear & Sons. Anyone know for sure?
Doubtful it is by Bear & Sons.
While trying to figure out who made my Remington Canoe (no "R" number) I sent them an email.
The replied they didn't make the canoe (tone of the letter seemed like I had offended them by asking) and that they had given up the Remington license years ago, "because the company was so difficult to deal with."

Nice Stockman, Ed!! Whoever made the Barlow didn't do as well.

I was just guessing Bear & Sons based on them having previously made some Remington-branded knives. This is a current offering so it's not Camillus, or at least not the old Camillus. The price point would be about right for a Case knife.

Built to a price point no doubt...........But I'd like to see an actual knife, not a rendering on an advertisement....

The bolsters look more rounded on the edges than a Case Barlow. Not sure on the pin placement. Is it the same?
Not the same as recent small Case barlows but similar to the pins on the original RB44 Remington barlows.
Same blade placement too.

So Bear & Sons it is?

I have a collection of the Camillus-made Remington knives but no Barlow. I was considering getting this knife depending on who manufactured it. Bear & Sons seems to have upped their game a little but it also seems to be hit or miss.

Definitely not Case. Might be Colonel Coon? But overall frame looks very close to recent BS.

The give away is in the nail nick, which points to B&S.

Col. Coon is ramped, GEC is crescent, Camillus and Buck does not do the rectangular on the pen blade, Case is crescent, the only American made one I know of with a full recess rectangle on the pen blade and the main blade is B&S.

Just thinking as I type, but cant think of anyone else.
