Who makes this Remington Barlow?

Remington got it 100% right last year. To go to this is a little headscratching to say the least. Maybe people were disheartened by the cost of last years offering. I was hoping to get a yearly Remington bullet knife, but I can not buy that knife. I am sure that plenty of people will buy and enjoy it.

Hey guys I understand it's not gec quality, but let's all be damn thankful it's made in the USA !!!!!! To many powerhouse cutlery company's have died and went to China. So good for B&s for still making slipjoints in the USA.
Great point. My goodness why did they go with that bullet 😆.

There’s a lot of negativity about this knife and yet I haven’t seen a single person that’s actually seen one in person or an actual photo.

Well they did just come out so really all we have to go on is the appearance and everyone’s previous experiences with B&S manufactured knives. I don’t suspect that these will be a big hit, but you never know!

Im sure the knife functions fine. I think discusing design choices on a certain knife is not necessarily negative. People have different taste.

Me personally don't like the version of "sawcut" bone on this one. I prefer barlow knives to not have a shield. I do however understand that this is a bullet knife and they have bullet shields. That shield is questionable at best. This is Remington! Just put a normal bullet on the thing.

100% sure that someone thinks I am crazy and loves everything about it. Were on a forum. Thats supposed to happen. Its what makes this forum interesting. Differing opinions.

My Michael May Sheffield Barlow, the new Remington, my GEC Remington 73, and my old Remington 1989 Trapper. First thoughts: the 2022 is about the same quality as the 1989. The bone is nice, not nearly as good as the GEC, but good. Otherwise a typical B&S Barlow, a respectable, decent knife. Pull 4.5 on main, 5 on the pen. Pen has very good walk and talk, the main is spongy. Bolsters plain, and backspring has a smidgeon of a gap but looks good. For a daily work knife that has a bit of flair, it’s perfectly fine, and better than any Case or Old Timer.

Many thanks!
So it is confirmed to be made by B&S, I assume.

I got this same question from a buddy. That turd was absolutely made by Bear and Sons.
Flippin' embarrassing.

My mind knows that's supposed to be a bullet shield.
My eyes can't see it.

you tell 'um John.
My apologies, my credibility is shot on an Internet forum that is somewhat wanky to say the least. I have old Cases and Schrades that are great knives. The ones that I have purchased recently have been pretty embarrassing and shoddy. Huge blade play, steels bad, just not good knives. Look better than this B&S Barlow, but I sure wouldn’t trust my life on them.
This new bullet doesn’t look great, but at least the blades don’t wiggle in all directions. It’s a knife that’s just a decent looking user, nothing more, nothing less.

You stated better than any Case or Old timer. Than you got defensive and said better than any new run Case and Old Timer. Words have meaning around here. Making a blanket statement like that is going to catch flak around these parts lol.
