Who needs a SAK Farmer??

The large blade will chop like a Busse AND slice like a Mora. The saw blade can cut through a 10" diameter seasoned oak in 15 sec. flat. The can opener is faster then my electric one at home. The other tools are just bonus! It's amazing. :eek:

Actually they just seem to have all the right tools for me. The awl is really nice to have as well as the saw. It really is nice for making precise cuts/notches. I also like the Alox scales because they are thinner and seem tougher than the other scales. I carry a blue one daily, and just ordered a silver one. I ordered a black and red Alox Cadets for $12 each too.
 
Bah! I just ordered one from Sierra. I did a search for coupon codes and found one that got me another 30% off too. Total with shipping was a hair over $17

I have the Farmer in blue but cadets in all the colors. The blue is really vivid and is very bright. All you need to do for the Farmer is add a lanyard with a micro prybar and you got it all covered....

Yeah, I missed using my 30% additional off coupon by one day :mad: It expired on the 26th....
 
I actually have a blue one coming, but am more excited about the harvester plus and electrician plus- I like the idea of the smaller blade more than the can opener/bottle opener (can't remember which one is missing).

My Pioneer does have the pruning blade but it doesn't have the saw! That is an especially appealing aspect of the Farmer. Only have an Alox one but it's in my bag wherever I go,so useful, you COULD manage with just this in most situations:thumbup: Wish they did them in GREEN that would be it:D
 
Another vote for the Farmer - or the Pioneer Harvester. It is a Farmer with the hawkbill pruning blade repacing the can opener. I think the can opener might be more useful... beans being more important than that beer bottle cap.

Addictive, these knives... I found a red Farmer first - then the silver - $15 ea last year at amazone. Finally, after missing a couple of evil-bay bids on a blue Farmer, I was pointed at a source for them with an Inova 2xAA LED in nice PSK metal boxes... got two. One blue one is an EDC, the other joins the red & silver in my very small Alox collection - the Farmers, Pioneer Harvester, and a Soldier - that came with a 2xAAA LED Inova light, but no box. I'm a sucker for a deal - or another flashlight!

The copper Cadet in the picture is an 84mm model. Red, Blue, and plain Alox 93mm Farmers, along with the Victorinox 2xAA LED flashlight from the kit. :D
 
i just got my farmer today from sierra and wow... the camping model has nothing on this guy... It just feels so much more robust and smooth!
 
also not to burst a bubble but how was the other thread about a deal site considered deal spotting while this thread a direct deal spot (which i benefited greatly from) was allowed to live twice as long! i think both threads should be allowed to co-exist
 
My thread was more about the idea that I "had" to have all farmers in all colors, and how much I loved this model, and how hard to find they are getting, and how affordable they are. I didnt in anyway mean to "deal spot, but I can see how it looks that way. I dont wanna offend anyone so Ill just go ahead and lock this thread..
