Who says it can't be done: Behold the BK34 TACBAR

Decided to draw it up.

Dang Dude!! You've got skills. I like that drawing a lot.

Thanks for doing that.

Btw, what program or whatever is it that you used, or was it by hand? Wish I could draw up stuff like that.

Thanks, I drew it in Sketchbook Pro. I use a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet to draw with. This one was pretty simple, just trace and shade.

If anyone ever needs something similar let me know. I love to draw, knives among other things. I won't hijack this thread anymore.

nice drawings!
I think the screwdriver on the butt is gonna poke you in the ribs.

of COURSE I like this thread... My final Beckerhead eligibility thread was the chronicle of the making of a mini-bk2. it was... knife-ish.

Thanks Kyle. Downloading it now.

Hey Kyle that's an awesome rendering. Brings a little more life to it. I'm inclined to agree that the screwdriver tip near the pommel is "sketchy." I wanted to include something like that to bring out the "tool" of the whole concept. At one point I considered a hex hole to use the hex bit screwdrivers and such but, eh......anyway

My wife saw the picture that Kyle drew and said (making fun of me), "Does that say Tacobar?"

i never liked the wire puller cutter but it fills a niche

once upon a time, the BK3 lineup in THEORY might have included a much longer version, thicker, stronger, and more "pry bar" (see the DB)

the laserlight mini copy is "adorb", i like mine :D

i'm pretty sure Ethan has explored all size variations. KaBar is aware. if they feel they can make money, they will.

me? i'd like some. smaller and bigger.

Dug this up.

BRL,

The Pistol Bayo blades are made in China from 3CR or 5CR. (I can't remember and I'm home right now.) Not great stuff, but they are supposed to be fun, not a serious product. We designed the blades, contracted them and the finished blades are dropped to LaserLyte where they assemble and package. BTW, Ethan does get his royalty from the BK-3 bayo. So all is well. Laserlyte is happy, KA-BAR is happy and the Big "E" is happy...now all we have to do is keep the customers happy.
Hope this helps.

I think the notch, as originally designed for the Blackjack BK3 DivTool, would have been a "line cutter", for cutting fishing line, trot lines, etc that a diver might encounter and get entangled in, rather than a wire cutter or dutch oven bail hook. It does work well as a bail hook as long as the bail diameter isn't too big.

Ok first off, I don't have a very expensive grinder, I actually salvaged this one and repaired it.

Tom and I have been emailing each other and after grinding the pattern with the flat head on it, there was a slight pinky hazard so I changed the butt end.

Here are a few side by side pics.

I figured small butt pommel like the bk3.

Yep,

I like it! The pommel is nice pinky saver. If the end user was so inclined they could always grind it down a touch to make a flat head out of the end and get the screw driver they want (if they preferred over the pommel). Another beautiful piece 710

Yes, my concept drawing is not new. I did not come up with anything that hasn't already been done or considered. I just renewed interest is all and made it pocket worthy.
