Who SLEEPS with a knife?

Ha!ha!!

First you asked about eating with one's knife, then you continue to ask if anybody sleeps with their knives.

I can guess what question you are going to ask next...... :barf: :D

kee :)

Always one close at hand but can't sleep with them clipped to my clothing like some of you guys can. I'm a very restless sleeper so the knife tends to get unclipped without me even knowing.

One morning I woke up and my Calypso jr was on the pillow next to me and it was open!

Who knows what the hell I was doing in my sleep.

I had a bad experience with the knives i keep next to my bed. After some crazy bad dream I woke up in the morning clutching the ka-bar with the retention strap flicked off.
I must have unconsiously grabbed the knife and flicked the strap so i had a kar-bar rattling around in my hands while not awake, not good.

Yep, same here. Great minds think alike. :D Add to that a modded Surefire KL4 + Vital Gear FB1 in my other shorts pocket.

Yeah, well....usually a Busse Jungle Defender or Camillus CQB-1 on the bedstand together with a SureFire 6P and a Glock 34 with 19 rounds of 115 gr. +P+ HP's under the bed!
Wife thinks I'm stark raving nuts but hey....we live in the country and the mice get damn big out here! :D

As my father always said, "not just no, but HELL no"

I'd end up cut more than I already do.

in my closet just out of arms reach is my sword, If I heard a bump downstair in the night that I thought was a burgler I would brab that. Sorry no guns, like them but don't currently own one, may get one later. Low crime though (WV has tha lowesr in the nation).

I am in the middle of a nasty storm right now in my neighboorhood and hear a lot of stuff thrashing around in the background because of wind and so on. It just makes me feel better knowing I got a .45 and a Ka-Bar on the shelf next to my bed, just in case. Although I'd be scared Sh$%less if I ever was in a real situation where I had to use either of them. Ha ha.

Theres usually a knife on my end table because I often am fondling the newest one while watching TV at night from my bed.. but one tiime I fell asleep with one on my chest..closed folder thankfully

Sleeping with a large Sebenza clipped to my PJ's has nothing to do with SD. I live in earthquake country and have survived 3 good sized earthquakes in my 46 years on this planet. My rule of thumb is not to go to bed wearing anything that you wouldn't mind being seen on national TV with. When the quake hits you can kiss anything on your night stand good-bye. By the time you wake up, most of your sh*t will be in a broken pile in the middle of the floor mixed with generous helpings of sharp glass that used to be your windows. Point being that I could very well end up outside with only the clothes (or lack of) on my back facing a TV camera crew. To me it's more of a "if you could only have one knife and all the others will be destroyed" kind of decision. No time to search or access a safe. What I'm wearing is what I keep. That is of course if I'm not buried and if I'm buried not much will matter. Yeah it probably won't happen but being thrown out of bed at 4 AM tends to leave a lasting impression. :) ;) :p

I keep most of my knives on a desk about 3 ft. away from my bed, it has a fold out leaf thing so it can come about 1 ft. away, and I keep my stereo remote on it (alarm). But sometimes when I roll over when trying to sleep, I hit it with my knee and all the **** i piled on it falls on the ground, around 3 in the morning. :D Ya, so I don't put my knives on it.

Is that a Sebenza in your pants or are you just glad to see me? ;)

I have a few knives in the drawer right next to my bed, however its not for self defense, just happens to be a convenient place to put them. For self defense i have my Remington 870 12 guage with federal tactical 9 pellet 00 buckshot :) I cant imagine any criminal stickin around after they hear me chamber a shell with that bad boy.

Forgot to mention I do sleep with a rubber chicken for self defense.

You never know when you'll be awakened by some rabid clowns in a tactically comedic situation.

I keep it in a kydex sheath clipped to my pj's with the footies in 'em.

I keep a Louisville slugger under the bed, mag-lite on the nightstand, and an always loaded H&R single-shot right behind the door. MY EDC"'s (not just knives, lighters, wallet, etc.) are already on my nightstand, but I'm pretty much first line of defense against any intruder in my house, so a knife isn't enough reach for me. Unless I am SURE that the intruder is going to kill me or any other members of my household, my hands will never go near that shotgun.
