Thank you cudgee cudgee ! I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment about the clip blade, definitely find this particular style more attractive. It took some looking around to find this one, for some reason they seem in short supply. I really like the Turkish clip on a trapper, but for some reason I just don't care for it on the stockman. I've already cut a couple of apples and a chicken thigh today so the patina is off to a good start.
 
I always thought that long swooping clip was called a California clip.

I'm sure someone is going to come along to correct me, but I think the clip on this mini trapper (another gem that I bought before I started my senior year of high school in 2005) is a California clip. I think the Turkish clip has a less pronounced "hump" and the nail nick is usually further out on the blade. I'm probably wrong, but that's how I've always interpreted it.

This one just arrived today, CV medium stockman. I'm here to tell you friends and neighbors, it's an absolute gem. The springs are a little anemic, but that just means I won't tear up my thumbnail on it. I was honestly a bit apprehensive buying without seeing it in person, but WOW!

I have that one in SS and blue bone. One of my favorites. Perfect size and blade combo.
