I keep coming back and looking at it. That’s the prettiest color bone I ever saw. Do you happen to know what it’s called?Large Texas Jack

Not offhand. I've always thought that Case does a nice job with their red.I keep coming back and looking at it. That’s the prettiest color bone I ever saw. Do you happen to know what it’s called?
I do love case red. That one has a touch or orangish and brownish. Does it always look that way?Not offhand. I've always thought that Case does a nice job with their red.
Wow. Thanks for sharing. That jack has the perfect tone. But the Barlows is mighty pretty too!I have a few other Case reds, and they're all a little bit different. The bottom one is called chestnut, but it looks kind of red to me.

Sounds like somebody needs to wear better shoes. As salesman was pulling it out, a fixed blade slid off tray and went through his foot.
Wow! You should have bought the fixed blade too.Had this one since 1985. Purchased at an Ace hardware store in Vidalia Ga. As salesman was pulling it out, a fixed blade slid off tray and went through his foot. Obligated then to buy the slimline. Went by a week later to check on him and found out he was being watched over that day as the major blood vessel in his foot was pushed out of the way of the point in the fixed blade. Could have been a lot worse.

Jigged Chestnut bone is my favorite of all Case bone handles.... oddly, I don't care for it nearly as much as "smooth" bone... the jigging seems to bring out the color nuances better than when left smooth.I have a few other Case reds, and they're all a little bit different. The bottom one is called chestnut, but it looks kind of red to me.

I'd like to see pics of that sowbelly.... my favorite pattern, in my favorite bone, and my favorite steel..... dang....I want to get me one of those Case barlows with some nice bone. Had a vintage with jigged delrin and miss it now. Though I like bone much better.
I need to pick up a few more case knives. Really only have 2 that are in regular rotation. My most common case carry is the Sowbelly Stockman Chestnut & CV.
The fixed blade was still in his foot. They did not pull it out, which was a good thing.Wow! You should have bought the fixed blade too.
If you can recall,
What kinda footwear did this unlucky clerk have? And which model of fixed blade was it?
Only thing that would have helped him would have been metatarsal style boots which would not have worked with the salesman attireSounds like somebody needs to wear better shoes.![]()
