Who still carries a Case Knife?

Instead of my usual Delrin handled Case 6318, I'm carrying this nicer looking 1981 jigged bone 6318 in my pocket today. I'm also carrying (in it's box) this 2020 red-bone handled Case 6318 to gift to my business friend (our Wilmington plant manager) who is retiring Wednesday. Looking forward to our visit later this morning. OH

Great gesture Bruce. I’ve learned recently what a great pattern the 18 is. I bet he’s going to love it. 😎👍

I find it interesting that the Pocket Worn Old Red Case 6318 has the "regular" clip blade like the Small Texas Jack uses or the 63032 Medium Stockman variant, but others of the same pattern have that slim California clip like the first one in your photo, including a very similar Pocket Worn Harvest Orange that was my first 6318 pattern.

I had to get one of the Pocket Worn Old Red ones myself, just to get that blade shape. All of my other 6318s use the slimmer clip. I carry and use both types, and they all work to cut stuff. Just an aesthetic difference I guess.

I know, I keep waiting for other covers to be done with that blade combo, but I guess they are keeping that one special.

Question for you Case experts. Did they every make an equal-end jack knife ~3.5" long, like the 68 Pony Jack? I just did some searching on the big auction site and came up empty. I love the GEC Pony Jack and mid-century Hammer Brand versions, but would love to find a vintage Case equivalent.

There is occasionally a Mini-Moose on the 32 frame you see in some sets. I regret having never ordered a CSA commemorative in that pattern during the 150th anniversary (there were several patterns in your choice of blue or grey jigged bone). I also saw the Mini-Moose in some other bone colors during that time period. OH

I’ve been a 18 pattern collector for years (not so active anymore in acquiring new ones). The standard clip in the 18 has been a very occasional item in various handle colors over the years. I missed one from the 1970’s a few years back, also saw a PW green bone once, it is very random except for that old red bone PW that is still available. OH

R Rhinofly sorry, upon reflection I realize I totally misinterpreted your question. I think the closest pattern to the GEC Pony Jack would be the Case 62055 Cigar Jack or Equal End Jack - discontinued in the late 1970’s I believe, great pocketknife. OH
I just went and looked and that is exactly what I was after. Thanks!
