I had a Russ several years ago and loved everything but the tang it tended to dig in my leg. Do you have he same issue with it?
It’s pretty nice, it has great action and the micarta is absolutely beautiful. The blade is centered perfectly and it’s sharp and pointy. But it’s not perfect, there are a few small gaps and there is considerable blade play. Neither of those things bother me too much but others might take issue with them. I like it a lot.Nice. How's the F&F, W&T, centering etc... on this one?

I missed the clip point green one so I was very happy to see this one come out. I hope you get a good one.Thanks. I already have one on order, I'll see how my lottery is later this week (maybe). I have one of the older green micarta ones, it's not quite perfect either, but a nice knife overall. (Blade not perfectly centered, slight gapping, barely noticeable blade play, smooth action, snappy, sharp, nice micarta.)

Thanks, ToddNice knife and photo Mike.![]()
One of my favorite Case knives! I rarely carry mine but it was a favorite as a kid
I thought the older green one was CS just like the new ones, is it CV? Regardless, that's a great looking pair.Snagged the new SFO Trapper in Natural Micarta. Matches well with the previous. It does make my OCD twitch a little, I'd have preferred both being the same steel either stainless or carbon.

Overall F&F, feel in the hand is almost identical between my two. Springs are flush enough I can't feel any proudness running my finger over them. Both have a nice smooth walk and snap into open about the same. Pull is very similar between my two. Both have about the same level of very minor gapping. Both blades aren't quite centered in the blade well. Neither have noticeable blade play when open (I don't get aggressive checking this). Blade grinds very slightly favor one side on both.
On the new one - the XX is embossed a bit deeper in the new one. As you can see in the photo, the new one is not quite as rounded at the heel/ butt/ cap end. There is a small amount of blade play when closed. There is a very minor amount of toothiness on the edge, can't remember if the green one had the same.
I like single-blade versions of a few knives like Trappers and Stockmans. Happy with this pair.
