Who still carries a Case Knife?

‘77 faux mother of pearl. What would the scales be made of? Acrylic? I bought it off a guy for something like $20. The bolsters are road rashed, as was the same side scale. I took some 400gt & then some 1000gt. The springs are nice and tight, nice walk and talk. Just a nice little 5th pocket user. View attachment 2642929
Celluloid most likely. Its out gassing too from the looks of it...

Carried this one yesterday at work and when I got home

I’ve ordered several case sowbellys to give the pattern a try. For the three that I’ve tried so far, they all have the spey blade rubbing against the liner. Is this just a normal/common thing for this pattern?
Blade rub is not uncommon on three blade Case knives in my experience. Some are perfect, some are OK, some are sad.

Newly arrived yesterday. Wonderful gift from 321Bandaid 321Bandaid and to say I'm delighted is feeble...47 Stockman, 3 spring in Walnut Bone which is a rich colour. I have a number of CASE Stockman but most are carbon so a stainless is a very welcome addition. Really kind gesture Chris

Very nice gift! I don’t know why Case doesn’t offer more of their SS blades with that brushed finish, used to do them all that way. I think that makes for a great combination. OH

Those bolsters are cool man,I can't say I have seen many of those in my neck of the woods, and most definitely not in my immediate surroundings.

Old Hunter Old Hunter 18 always a great user and Yellow D most workmanlike, I have to get one

I have to confess that my photo skills are not much good as the picture of my newly arrived 47 in Walnut Bone does suggest it's glaze/matte finish but it's not 🤣 I agree with you that stainless does look so much better in this finish though, it's going to be a job for one of our endless winter days for me to turn them into matte finish. Pretty time consuming and you've got to watch out for getting cut plus the edges get wrecked too, anybody got tips for a short cut on this??

Thanks, Will

Will Power Will Power when I repair the finish on a Buck Knife (very similar “brushed” finish) I use a piece of fine emery paper pulled tight over the corner of a narrow (3/4” +/-) block of wood. Rub in the one direction only - does a very nice brushed finish on steel.
Ps lay the blade on another piece of wood to support the blade when rubbing.
