Who still carries a Case Knife?

My carry during international travel. Small and unobtrusive enough, stainless blades, and non-locking. Travels well to tropical regions of the planet.

Heading out for the weekend, just my wife and I to celebrate our 48th anniversary. She found a nice house to rent that is right on the Perquimans River (a bit north of the Albemarle Sound). We're going to relax, go out to eat, and fish in the river. Decided that I would carry a Case Knife that I have owned since I started collecting Case Knives, but have never used (or carried that I can remember). One of the reasons I bought this knife when I did was that it is a 1977 built Case, same year we were married - hope it's still got some good luck left in it! I just worked on the edge and oiled the joints - this one will outlast me for sure. OH

A fitting choice. Happy Anniversary to the two of you.
Oh, and that's a good looking knife too.

If this knife had a Pen blade and measured about 3-1/4" to 3-3/8", I'd arm wrestle you for it.

Oops, I left out a second Olive Green Case I have so here are both together - Tribal Lock over a Trapper



Nothing wrong with the blade tip of the spey blade on the trapper - just the funky lighting and reflection of the light.

I’m with you on the pen blade. It makes more sense to me but I haven’t had the guts to try and modify a spey myself.

I mustered up the courage out of necessity, when I decided to clean up a quite used, abused, and neglected Schrade Uncle Henry with a Spey blade that neede re-profiled badly.
I call this a Spen Blade now.
Luckily, it doesn't seem like the blade has lost any of its temper.


What this blade likely looked like at one time.


Go for it!
If I ever lay hands on an appropriate candidate that checks all the other boxes, I will likely have my perfect pocket knife after I re-profile an existing Spey blade on said "Dream Knife".
