Dave, no, the swell center would be wider at both the top and bottom in the middle of the frame. This is the 6308 split-back whittler; in his Case Knives book author Steve Pfeiffer refers to it as a "semi-swell center" or "hump-back" frame.

I like the shield too. It pairs nicely with the "Mulberry" scales. I ran across one of these one and wanted to check it out. I instantly liked it and ordered the other.

Incredibly cool, Bruce. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those. Or I missed it if I did! Beauty of a knife. Love that handle shape.

A stag Wharncliffe tiny trapper for your viewing pleasure! I believe this is the smallest knife that Case makes.

I grew up with my dad carrying a banana yellow bone handle folding case and the first one I bought 20 years ago was an upgraded model because it was a lock blade. I actually just created an account on here to ask about a old case knife that my grandfather carried in WW2 and another blade that he purchased in the south pacific from a local blacksmith
