Who wants a blue Para 2 with M390?

The only potential problem I see is if Spyderco releases too many Sprint runs, which would dilute the coolness of owning and using one.

Yeh they should be careful about that.

I remember back in the 90's I used to read the occasional Batman comic.

And around that time almost literal every third issue on the shelf was touting itself as some sort of collectors item, and people were going for it hook line and sinker, buying up multiple copies of some books. lol most of them are probably worth less than cover price today.

I noticed that when the other 4 online blade retailers that I browse all ran out of the gray 20cp para2, BBS raised their price to go to their site and look. Its not surprising when people on BF play the flipping game, but it is when a dealer does. HKS, KW, KC, BHQ all seemed to keep their prices the same until they sold out...

EDIT: WTF spelling

Back when the S90V Para was coming out I posted how the 3 places I preordered with all failed to come thru. BBS contacted me and was very sympathetic to my predicament and were kind enough to point me towards one they were selling for $289 if I remember correctly. At that time even that was exorbitant, though now it would seem to be a fair price. Kind of rubbed me the wrong way acting caring about my bad luck then offer eBay scalper prices to 'help' me out. Whatever.

It might be a pricey steel but it shouldn't come close to S90V and carbon fiber. Spyderco isn't charging too much, the store is. Just look at their prices on other knives. I feel like they charge too much for an online store and I'm not going to reward them with my business. If everyone else doesn't feel the same way that is fine.

How do you know it shouldn't come close to S90V in price? M390 Microclean is the most expensive stainless steel made by Bohler-Udeholm, and it is not exactly cheap to have anything done in Austria...

Well looking at prices of steel M390 is about 30% more expensive probably due to import costs. However, there is only about 5 bucks worth of steel in a pocket knife and that is retail price. I'm sure steel bought in bulk at wholesale prices will be be a fraction of that. CTS-20CP looks to be about the same price as S90V and was quite a bit cheaper in knife form. In fact I would bet that carbon fiber is a much bigger cost than the blade steel as it is not cheap stuff.

Regardless, look at what they charge for other knives on their site. The gray para is 220 when many other stores charged $135. It's my opinion and everyone is free to disagree.

They are charging MSRP on most of their items, are the prices higher than other places? Maybe, depends what you want and how bad you want it. Bottom line is, if you don't feel like paying whatever it costs, that is alright and the point is taken. No need to pound it into the ground. It is what it is.

I've seen more than one retailer do this. Not going to loud cap them on the forum, but I think it's pretty scummy for them to do that. If you want to charge a high price that's fine, but to raise it once other suppliers run out isn't cool. That being said I did pre-order a Blue/m390 P2 from BBS. It's the only thing I have ever bought from them.

I ordered one of these a few days ago. Also ordered a brown one... Going to be sweet!

Sorry for the hijack, but I would be more interested in 52100 or Aogami Super Blue.

There is a Caly 3.5 in Super Blue on it's way. Don't hold your breath for a Japanese steel in any knife made other than Japan. Too many people would complain about rust to really appreciate the 52100. I would love one of those too though.

I'm in to. Let's see, a blue Para2 M390, a brown Para2 S35V, and a brown Millie in CTS-XHP. Now I hear a Millie in M390. Oh and a ZT 561 on pre order for a taste of something different. I need knife rehab
